They are off by 0.04mm on every pin meaning after 30 pins (30 * 0.04 = 1.2mm) you are off by half a pitch - enough to interfere. Not just "don't line up dead center", but short together guaranteed by geometry. Logically, a 2.54mm pitch connector cannot work. If you line up the pins at one end, you'...

It's public domain. Fine to include in a GPL project.

I would like to see a Free clone of GoodNES, except for the following: I have qualms about using a database extracted from GoodNES due to compilation copyright and sui generis database rights issues. It might be better to start with BootGod and/or ZapFC databases. You can't legally extract the DB o...

Best graphic tool(s)?

Is there a best graphic tool for NES graphics? IE just one tool that everyone uses, or do most people tend to use a suite for different features (image creation, export to ASM/.bin, etc)?

I'd like to get an idea of what other people use.

Parallel CopyNES testing

Can someone with a parallel CopyNES and the original qbasic client test something for? When I do a "Find Version", I get the long version string. When I do it the second time, I get garbage data. Can someone else do this and see what you get? Also... anyone wanna buy a parallel copynes board? I'm th...

EXP0 mod for parallel CopyNES

Anyone got the instructions for the EXP0 (powerpak flash write enable) CopyNES mod for the parallel version? Bunnyboy's site only has the instructions for the USB version where there's a pin on the board for it. I can't find it on Kev's site anymore.

As someone pointed out, you're talking about a assembler, not a compiler. There's already great assemblers out there. You might want to focus just on the optimizations - instead of generating code and warnings, just generate warnings. Much like lint. Then people could run their code through your too...

What's the state of using the parallel CopyNES on Linux? I thought someone made software once, but I can't find it anywhere.

We had a major power outage, so sorry about the downtime. Should be back up in a sec.

So reading all the posts, it seems like people want a BSD style free license, like Zlib or the CC Zero. Would it be worth it to try to email every person with a registered wiki account and ask them to re-license their contributions?

Hey, guys, sorry about the terrible delay. Real life things. What decisions have been made? Gonna start a new wiki from scratch to avoid the old relicensing problems? It would be nice to use the old content, but legally you have to contact every person who ever made an edit. I'm gonna upgrade the wi...

Any reason it can't be nesdevwiki.org/Foo ? I always wonder why so many Wikis have seemingly unnecessary cruft between the domain name and the page name (/wiki/ is admittedly minimal). The /wiki is actually there for a reason. /wiki/Foo doesn't exist on the server. All the wiki files live in /w/ an...
