Re: Graphics issue on an NROM board. My first Reproduction.

Since I am extremely new to this I printed all of this out in pdf to study and walk through the NES ROM I have. In the meantime, I purchased a RetroDUO NES/SNES and stack of RetroX boards to program onto. In this way, I am using new hardware with new hardware. I also ordered new 72 PIN connectors fo...

Re: Graphics issue on an NROM board. My first Reproduction.

Just to be safe, test continuity across the ceramic capacitor on the back of your board before powering it. It should not be a short circuit. I just tested it again, no continuity. But maybe before I had those other grounds? Not sure, but I'll look into D2 Thank you!! There is indeed continuity sir...

Re: Graphics issue on an NROM board. My first Reproduction.

Just to be safe, test continuity across the ceramic capacitor on the back of your board before powering it. It should not be a short circuit. Much of what you say is true. I was hoping to flash an "easy" ROM, NROM and then learn asm6502. My intention was not to get stuck making or troubleshooting b...

Re: Graphics issue on an NROM board. My first Reproduction.

Re: Graphics issue on an NROM board. My first Reproduction.

I just reflashed new EPROMs.. the NES will not power on. If I ground only A13 it will. But I grounded all three as you said to.

I cut 2 lines and leave A13 and it boots with new EPROMs... but graphics glitches... I'm losing my mind, hahaha

Re: Graphics issue on an NROM board. My first Reproduction.

Here the chip is, I've ran a multi over the pins for grounding issue. Testing pin out now. But game plays, could it be corrupted image? Should I program two different eproms?

Re: Graphics issue on an NROM board. My first Reproduction.

I just wired this as instructed, grounding all three. NES does not power on. I have a lockout pin removed so it does not light the LED up at all. I dropped in a dif game, it plays okay. That is why I was worried about frying my deck.

Re: Graphics issue on an NROM board. My first Reproduction.

I did ground A13, I had the others grounded as well. I in no way meant to come off as rude or condescending. I don't mind being corrected when wrong, this is your guys playground, not mine. No matter what A* I ground the graphics display artifacts. I will pull the ROMS today and dump them. I will co...

Re: Graphics issue on an NROM board. My first Reproduction.

I used a M27C512, I will ground it and re-test. Thank you very much. Then you need to also ground A14 and A15 on your chip, otherwise you may get the same sort of issue. Looking over your method actually looks like it would blow a cap or worse. I am really interested in a solid explanation as to wh...

Is it the CHR ROM you are referring to? I am confused because this site states, that mask ROM with that E...

Re: Red Screen

Testing different games I have found the issue is not with the games, they all work after 1-100 tries. I ordered a new 72 Pin Connector and am hoping that will resolve the issue. I have cleaned the board and games. The connector will arrive in a couple of days and if it resolves the problem I will p...

I removed the pic with my geo-location, not that any of you wanna come to Alaska, but whatever. :)
