I don't know how much more context you'd really need to understand that segment. I feel like the words should convey it well enough? It's not like any of it was said with some sarcastic tone. There was another section when Joe's partner sneers something like "...can't you go ask Mumbler, or whatever his name is..." which added a bit more negative context to the film (and quoted section) as a whole for me, they just seemed to be mocking for entertainment value among their peers just like ...

I'm not sure how the internal painting tool could be considered DRM? I think he's referring to the overall Nesmaker program DRM, you can't use it without purchase, no demo? I don't really disagree with anything in FrankenGraphics balanced response, though I view it all through the filter of knowing...
