Re: Results of using FeRAM instead of Battery+SRAM

Ok, so i actually found the problem and everything works now, it happens that i'm using a 256K FeRAM chip of which the address lines go from A0 to A14. In the HiRom mode, the SNES maps the save memory at address 6000h-7fffh, these addresses correspond to A13 and A14 in high state (and thats why they...

Re: Results of using FeRAM instead of Battery+SRAM

The games work normally, i've tried SC2000 and DK Country, but are not saving, the memory OE is connected to CART_RD and WR is connected to CART_WR. For those two games specifically, it's possibly software copy detection. SNES cart copiers would usually have 32kB SRAM, and some games check for that...

Re: Problems with F-Zero and Super Mario World

Hello, i just wanted to report that i've tested the carts on another SNES and they worked. My SNES has a SHVC-CPU-01 motherboard and the other one a SNS-CPU-RGB-01. I don't know if this has any influence in the problem and really don't know what is happening, maybe my SNES is dying? I've tried the B...

Re: Problems with F-Zero and Super Mario World

Yes, i found the 29L3211 quite strange, i'm actually surprised that it works, the adapter has a voltage regulator to supply the chip 3.3V, but its strange that no level shifter is used in the chip I/O and the chip has not died. It takes a while. And it's not only a problem for the chip, but also th...

Re: Problems with F-Zero and Super Mario World

has a 29L3211 Flash installed with a adapter over the maskrom. Be very careful with this part. That is a 3V part, and it requires extra hardware to safely use in a SNES. Without the extra hardware, you could find yourself destroying your SNES. to see if the presence of SRAM in this cart would made ...
