https://www.mesen.ca/ should work without issue. It looks like the latest FCEUX 2.3.0 works fine as well. I tried an older version of FCEUX (2.2 I think), and I also saw the graphical issues.
Thanks 2.3.0 did the job. Really cool game!

Re: Published first game - what next?

If you are using NROM, feel free to fork From Below as a starting point (just basically clear out main.h/c and you should be up and running): https://github.com/mhughson/mbh-firstnes/ Thanks, I was just looking for something like this! I'd definitely take a look at your project, as I prefer to star...

Re: 2020/21 NESDev Competition

I have a question in regards to the voting form. I see it came prefilled for my entry.
It would not make much sense to vote for my own game. Did I get it right, that I should leave it as it is?

Re: Arkade Rush

This game is a hidden gem of the competition! Initially, I was a bit confused about what I should do, but the tutorial did help a lot. Very very playable. I enjoyed it a lot, but couldn't try multiplayer, as my multicart was not able to run it. Overcooked is a great coop game and yours lives up to t...

Re: Witch n' Wiz - Puzzle Platformer [COMPLETE]

It runs fine in retroarch for mobile, if you want to play on your phone. Hi Goose2k, Your game looks really impressive! I'm trying to run it but have some problems. My multicart does not support it. Tried Fceux / Nostalgia but there are graphical artifact, that prevent me from playing. What kind of...

Re: Published first game - what next?

Apologies for the late response. It depends on how long you can motivate yourself to work on a game without having a finished product. If you only want to work a year or so, take the smaller game. If you don't mind three years, take the longer one. But don't exaggerate it. I would advise against som...

I love your sprites/tilesets! One of the best homebrew graphics I've seen on NES, good job!

Immunatio - game about covid

Hello, I would like to submit the first nes game I did in cooperation with some of the good souls from the forum. I used to play a lot NES games as a kid and creating a game for this console was on my bucket list - which with covid-19 spreading fast in 2020 could have had reached me faster than expe...

Re: Published first game - what next?

Many thanks for your honest opinions calima, Pokun, and especially to DRW for the very detailed answer. This is a great help to me and tbh I was expecting such answers. Furthermore, your current game has visual glitches during screen transitions, like frames that consist of nothing but zeroes, visib...

Published first game - what next?

Hi folks. I have published my first game after 10 months of development and got some good feedback from about 60 players. https://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?f=22&t=20563&start=15#p264956 I've learnt quite a bit about 6502 assembly, tooling and cooperation with pixel artists and music artists. I...

Looks very good. Jumping over snake requires pixel perfect coordination.

Re: Nesdemia - game about covid

I released final version 1.0 of the game: https://github.com/RomekRJM/nesdemia/raw/master/nesdemia.nes I've gathered a lot of feedback from the people, who so far donated to charity 450$, buying cartridge and 55 roms. By the time I'm writing this, game has 4.63/5 score given by the people who bought...

Re: Nesdemia - game about covid

Thanks for the detailed explanation on DPCM / controller read issue rainwarrior. I reproduced it on Mesen and fixed as you suggested: https://github.com/RomekRJM/nesdemia/blob/master/nesdemia.nes . By the way, you've enlightened me. Mesen is such a great tool, I should use. So far development was do...

Re: Nesdemia - game about covid

Wow very impressive! Congrats! Thanks! I'm noticing in Mesen occasionally it presses right unexpectedly. Especially on the DNA spending screen, this means it automatically adds points to stat you have selected without asking. This usually indicates a conflict between DPCM samples and the controller...

Re: Nesdemia - game about covid

Game is now officially launched on the real cartridge thanks to krzysiobal. You can find out more about his work in http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=15757. He was very kind and offered to prepare it for charity for free. miniaturka.png I have launched the charity auction on one of the lo...
