When I used to 'quit' World of Warcraft, that would usually only result in a 5% drop in playtime. :D

Re: the "right" timing for savestates?

From what I've read, it does seem like a variable not being restored properly.

I've never personally implemented savestates for WedNESday, so I've no experience with them. But shouldn't an emulator wait for the entire frame to finish before saving the savestate?

A. It wasn't a 'reference'.

Tell me something. In those days, did you used to walk to work or did you ride on the back of a dinosaur?

Re: PPU sprite evaluation question

That's correct. Also, be warned that some games will sometimes show a sprite in the top left corner of the screen. This does not mean that your emulator is wrong. I think that 'Pacman' does it on the title screen. Also, some games like 'Pinball' will use the background and sprites to render the titl...

Don't forget, the PPU still does some form of sprite evaluation even after 8 sprites have already been found on this scanline.

Was the above post a bit harsh? Maybe it was too soon for one of my funny posts.

Welcome to the nesdev forums, monsieur. What do you intend to do here? Write your own NES emulator? Some homebrew ROMS, perhaps?
