Re: PPU timing?

Odd frames should be 1 PPU (not CPU) cycle shorter when rendering is enabled.

Re: FineX, FineY and zero hit

It's not a hack. DMC DMA takes a different length depending on where they land during the OAM DMA. Though I thought the last few cycles were 1,2,3 ... not 2,1,3. Lemme find that page. EDIT: Here's the post: http://forums.nesdev.com/viewtopic.php?p=62690#p62690 DMC DMA adds 4 cycles normally, 3 if i...

Hyde, looks like your NMI is occurring 2 clocks too early. Take a look at the source to 05-nmi_timing. Fx3, could be that you are clearing the VBL flag one PPU clock too late . Take a look at the source to 07-nmi_on_timing. EDIT: bold-faced word that should be read carefully. Hey blargg! Long time ...

These are the results I am getting:

I would assume my NMI code is broken given that I have not touched it in ages. Any ideas?

Again, there is no room for speculation here. That demo actually works on an NES. I'm not too sure of which version it was that I sent Memblers, but he was the one that took that picture. That's how it looks. As I said, the output may vary from reset to reset.

Memblers took that picture for me a while back. That test's behavior varies from a reset state to another.

What Do You Think? But Please, Think.

I think it's kinda funny when people make mistakes or erroneous assumptions due to the lack of appropriate (defined by me as clear and concise) documentation/information. After all, I'm perfect.

What do you imperfect mortals think?

I also had numerous problems while working on the audio portion of my emulator using Allegro. At best, you will get great sound in sync with graphics for a couple of minutes. Since this is not what you are looking for, avoid the Allegro audio routines at all costs. Go with something like portaudio.

I do it (did it?) because ladies find C++ programmers extremely sexy. I don't like the way some people talk about their emulators, as though as if they are the best. If you are one of these people, get a life . If you're gonna write a program do it because it's something that interests you, not beca...
