Re: Raw Input: Read multiple USB keyboards on Windows

The Raw Input API in Windows allows a program to read multiple distinct keyboards, such as two USB keyboards or a USB keyboard and a laptop's internal keyboard, and take different actions for (say) Space on one and Space on the other. It reportedly works for mice as well, and I imagine it'd be the ...

What is your zapper implementation?

Do you have it assigned to the correct port?

Re: NES-001 cap replacement guide for the av power module

I also didn't keep track of what audio caps were 1uF caps vs 10uF caps as i'm just replacing them all with 10uF caps, it won't matter. Why do you think substituting a cap won't matter for this circuit? Quick look at the schematic looks like they would act as a filter. Also, it would of been really ...

Re: Noah's Ark (E) on PowerPak

Just to follow up on this, here's one scenario from Visual 2C02 simulation. I simply added write to $2007 at the end of the default "program" (it enables rendering at the end). This is what happens (read from bottom to top): cycle hpos vpos ab ale rd wr 348 057 105 1009 1 1 1 348 057 105 1009 1 1 1...

Re: Do any carts use the System Clock, pin 37?

I didn't think any carts used it and I believe I misread about the everdrive using it. Although, IIRC the PowerPak at least routed the track for some reason.

Just seeing if there were any oddball carts or something that uses it.

Do any carts use the System Clock, pin 37?

I thought I heard that the Everdrive N8 might of used it at one point, but don't know the details so correct me if I'm wrong. Do any other NES Carts use the the System Clock?

Re: Flowing palette demo

Most games keep their palette updates inside the vertical blanking period in order to avoid the rainbow artifacts that this demo exploits. If I had to name a commercial game that it affects, that'd probably be Micro Machines . Does the NESRGB team own a copy of that game ? That's what I was thinkin...

Re: 2A03 ICE

Sounds interesting, but I don't think those features are what I'm looking for. I'd like to plug something into a 2A03 Socket, not the catridge slot, so that I could test that the system is working. Write to and read back Memory and I/O ports are probably what I'm really after and the other features ...

2A03 ICE

Is anyone working on or heard of a 2A03 ICE?

I'd love to be able to plug one into a 2A03 socket to test and debug with.

Re: PowerMappers (a new set of PowerPak mappers)

Ah, combinational. Kind of dirty, but maybe it would be sufficient. I may test this at some point. It's not as bad as it sounds and is used quite often. The delay is whatever the propagation delay is through the buffers, but is still probably less then the MMC3's propagation delay. Might want to tr...
