My saves were lost twice the same way, once the cat rubbed against the cart and the game froze, reset and it was empty, and in another they battery died.

You could always do what Nintendo did when it ran out of 2-character codes: go to 4-character codes ending in E. SNS-FX2E-USA All US 4 character codes start with A; Japanese can start with A, B or Z. One thing on the artwork: SNS-F2 is an English serial, for Final Fight 2, there isn't a real serial for Star Fox 2, but I wouldn't use one that is actually a real game.

Many times blargg's test ROMs are obtained from ROM sets or ROM sites and don't come with source or any text documents. This was a problem I had early on.
