Re: 240p test suite

every once in a while on the plunge test the top and bottom bars are green instead of grey. the easiest way to reproduce it is to rapidly press start during this test to switch in and out of the info window and the plunge test

Re: DISASM6 v1.5 - Nes oriented disassembler producing asm6

So I tried this against a CNROM game and it seems to run into trouble right away: ... that .hex 85 business is obviously not data- should be STA $15 I tried feeding a CDL from fceux in but that doesn't seem to have any affect. Is there something else I should be doing? I've also never used the CDL ...

Re: What is the deal with colors $22 and $x8 range? LCD vs C

man, phase distortion, I thought that was only something you heard on Star Trek anyways, I was looking up colors and the color named "periwinkle" or "lavender" appears very similar to the color $22 on many LCD displays. It's a combination of full blue and almost full green and red in equal strength ...

Re: What is the deal with colors $22 and $x8 range? LCD vs C

that's an interesting thought about developers developing on a different PPU than the one that was in most people's systems.. seems like that would cause all sorts of color problems. I still don't get why all the "accurate" palettes show $22 as much more purple than this CRT is showing it, and the y...

What is the deal with colors $22 and $x8 range? LCD vs CRT?

Color $22, most well known for the sky in Super Mario Bros, seems to be one of the most poorly represented colors in most emulators. I have seen it be anything from a deep blue to light purple. Most of the palettes/emulators claiming to be accurate show it as a bluish purple color. If I plug my Nint...

Re: Way to periodically dump name table to images? Using Lua

Instead of using that program to merge the images, I've started using photoshops "Photo Merge" feature which isn't perfect but saves a lot of time since it can "snap" matching shapes into place when it doesnt get it right automatically I record an AVI using raw video, then take that into VirutalDub,...

Re: Way to periodically dump name table to images? Using Lua

yes it's extra mario bros... I'm wondering if all the black space is causing problems, plus the stars are animated. i ran it on a few sets of images and it seems like it was tracking mario more than the background. I don't think that tool is the solution I'm looking for, but it was a nice idea. If I...

Re: Way to periodically dump name table to images? Using Lua

I tried it out but it doesn't seem to work too well unfortunately :( when I try to filter out the HUD it goes haywire too What it should look like https://i.imgur.com/cTLzIvz.png The generated image https://i.imgur.com/dhi7Ay5.png It's missing some major features.. though honestly just using the raw...

Re: Trying ROM Disassembly & getting lots of Invalid Opcodes

That’s data that disasm6 doesn’t recognize as data for whatever’s reason so it treats it as code. Disasm6 tries to guess what is data based on if the memory area is read using lda or similar.. this chunk must not be read using those methods nor has the emulator encountered it when you recorded the c...

Re: Way to periodically dump name table to images? Using Lua

An even less direct approach might be Biswit's animation merging tool: https://bisqwit.iki.fi/source/animmerger.html this is basically what I would really like to do.. play through the game and end up with a map "automagically" rendered. Looks like to get the source images for that project, they ha...

Way to periodically dump name table to images? Using Lua or?

Is there a way to capture the name table as an image periodically? This would be really useful for creating level maps of games, vs taking screen shots manually over and over. I thought maybe it could be done using FCEUDX and Lua script but i didn't see any image saving functionality

Where do the screen shot files end up? I tried making a folder named "screenshot" in the punes folder and the folder of the rom but no screen shots appear
