https://www.romhacking.net/forum/index.php?topic=16882.0 take a look here if interested. this was obviously abandonded/cancelled... This is also interesting... the mediafire link says this: Well, looks like we can’t go any further The file you requested has been removed from MediaFire for a violatio...

Re: How many times can the NES change scrolling in a frame?

i did this sort of thing for Pyro man level on my Megaman Odyssey romhack. The "wavy water" type stuff. I copied straight from the water level on Sonic CD (i dont remember what the zone/level was called) -- anyway i got it 100% accurate from it. So the IRQ runs about 30 to 40 times a frame. Somethin...

Re: Curious about MMC5 5209/520A registers

Hey there again ? Rather than start a new thread, i kind of had another question or two, not about mmc5 stuff at the momment, but just NESASM things. First, is it possible for a macro or a "if/else" statement to loop X number of times ...i know "asm6" has something called "REPT" to repeat doing some...

Re: Curious about MMC5 5209/520A registers

Oh that Vertical split thing wiith $5200-5202, right ?? I was going to try that out once for the Pause Menu, but i was really disappointed that it wasnt allowed for EX Attributes. :( Apparently only works with regular nametable's stuff. I would of split the menu screen in half. scroll one side up, o...

Re: Curious about MMC5 5209/520A registers

Ah okay. Too bad about the 5800-5BFF area then. :( going unused pretty much. Yea well, i'll never be using Scroll F0-FF anywhere anyways. I use Y position E8 on a few of the menu screens like Time Attack, Achivements, and Save-Load Game screens. Never F0+ though cause it creates a empty black line a...

Re: Curious about MMC5 5209/520A registers

Hmm that's pretty interesting what you guys are saying. Yea i was going to say, dont forget 4 MI, which is the base megaman 4 ... with CHR-RAM, and mmc5 mapper too. I have a couple other questions then too if I may. -- I'm assuming the 5800-5BFF stuff is not supported in any emulators too ?? even th...

Re: Curious about MMC5 5209/520A registers

Oh i see, no emu's. Okay then, oh well. So then just to clarify... a 0001 would of made an IRQ literally the instant you write it to the registers just because it's 1 CPU cycle ?? (like right after the STA 5209, and before the next opcode literally) ? Should mention that on the wiki ...cause i dont ...

Curious about MMC5 5209/520A registers

Hey there. I was just curious about this "hardware timer" thing with 5209/520A registers for IRQ's. On here: http://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php/MMC5#16-bit_Hardware_Timer_with_IRQ_.28MMC5A:_.245209_read.2Fwrite.2C_.24520A_write.29 Is there any real general purpose use where one could use this for so...

Re: What code editor do you use?

I always watched whenever puresabe would stream programming live on twitch, for his SNES megaman 7 hack, and he always used a program called "sakura editor". And that tempted me to want to use what he uses. So ...me - Sakura Editor with English plugin. And a macro's file from puresabe's Rockman 4 Mi...

Re: Why was the GBA sound so poor?

this prob will sound silly, sorry. :( I always personally hated how the Sonic Advance games sounded. I always thought it felt like it was making just nonstop farting noises/sound. Especially the first sonic game (sonic advance 1) .. i dont know how to say it really but one of the sound channels is e...

Re: looking for a coder[paid]

stack having the wrong address (when it goes to an RTS). I forget exactly what it was but like basically for example. Both savestates are in the 1st screen of the dungeon ya know ?? -- The first one shows 5D A3 ( $A35D ), and the other one is like 03 A0 ( $A003 ) -- I leave the dungeon since the scr...

Re: looking for a coder[paid]

alright.. i sort of have a rough idea of what's going on with the wrong warp thing. After comparing savestates in the 1st room of the dungeon and leaving. 1 that's normal, and your savestate that has the wrong warp. I found out that the uhhh "return address" or "exit" or whatever you wanna call it, ...

Re: looking for a coder[paid]

okay got your savestate and saw the wrong teleport to other place then. Yea. unless the game actually crashes with that, then there's no way im ever going to be able to figure that out, cause i know absolutely nothing about this game, never heard of it before you started your thread the other day. I...

Re: looking for a coder[paid]

Oops, i missed 1 of the music engine JSR's. (delete my custom JSR cause it was "during" NMI) Sorry about that. May still be more spots. It's impossible to know truly 100% for sure cause we dont have source code of this game. So i can only do these edits in the hex editor. https://www.mediafire.com/f...
