Any software on SNES/PSP/PS Vita/other consoles for making live music?

Anyone know if there's a program like muddyGB or this fork , but for other consoles with more buttons? More specifically, I'm looking for something like a cross between Free PIano and muddyGB for the PS Vita or something similar, something where I can assign buttons and button combos to specific not...

Can someone help me identify this FDS game?

I wasn't sure where to put this, so if this is in the wrong place, please let me know or move it or what have you. I bought this FDS game at a convention recently. It had a Murasame Castle cover and a DokiDoki Panic sticker. A friend of mine helped me rip it, but neither of us could figure out what ...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

I edited my previous post to use the correct terminology. I noticed! We have a correct CPU dump! However, the PPU dump is off and the title screen is glitchy. CRC32 is 297fa51a. EDIT: WAIT! SPOKE TOO SOON! I doubled the PPU dump anago.exe d12 vrc6.ad madara.nes and it gave a dump that matches bootg...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

....... I'm just gonna be super embarrassed for a moment, because I hadn't looked closely enough to notice that the "konami_vrc6.af" file is only for programming Flash memory transplanted onto a VRC6-using cart , not for downloading the contents of VRC6-using carts. My fault. Here's a quick & dirty...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

This part, not so much. I'm sorry :( Hm. How about: "the code in the cpu_dump and ppu_dump sections are instructions how to imitate the NES's CPU in order to get data off the cartridge" ? I think that makes more sense. Right now, you have the bit at the very top (the stuff between /* */, a "comment...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Anago uses a scripting language called "Squirrel" which looks similar to the C programming language. So a lot of these choices are explicitly designed to be familiar to someone who's already programmed in C, instead of anything else. I'm very unfamiliar with any programming language, really. I can ...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Okay, that's all nice and kind of explains the numbers and commands towards the top of the script. What about all the stuff underneath that? And how do I get this all to function for the VRC6 or any other board? Is there a clear formula I can use to just plug in numbers? EDIT: Okay, so taking anothe...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Surely you've done enough of these by now to get a feeling for what these words and numbers mean? That they're just not just random gibberish? Unfortunately, they're gibberish to me, though not quite random. I get a couple of the ideas behind the numbers (0x4000 = the size of a ROM(?)), and some of...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Unfortunately, there's another syntax error. It now says that 'size_base' doesn't exist. Compare the entire line from the mmc3 script, not just that single word :P Okay, so I got a script that works. I basically just copied the beginnings of the MMC3 script, which I figured would be wrong (it is). ...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Naruko changed the syntax at some point: "ppu" is wrong and it should be "ppu_rom", as the error says. Compare the syntax from (e.g.) nintendo_mmc3_tkrom.ag Great! That fixed the problem. Unfortunately, there's another syntax error. It now says that 'size_base' doesn't exist. Here's the current scr...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

So, this is somewhat related to this thread and, since it involves the Kazzo, I thought it should go here. I got a copy of Nakayoshi to Issho and dumped it. However, because the game is not in bootgod's database, I'm unable to confirm the CRC32s. Here's what I got using an MMC3 script and a d22 comm...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Apologies to the mods for the double post. lidnariq managed to craft another script, this time for Ninja JaJamaru: Ginga Daisakusen (i.e. JF-25 and/or iNES mapper 18). We thought it should go here. If an edit is preferable, please let me know. board <- { mappernum = 18, vram_mirrorfind = false, ppu_...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Thanks to lidnariq, I was able to dump GeGeGe no Kitarou 2 with the following script: board <- { mappernum = 152, cpu_rom = { size_base = 0x20000, size_max = 0x20000, banksize = 0x4000 }, ppu_rom = { size_base = 0x20000, size_max = 0x20000, banksize = 0x2000 }, cpu_romsize = 2 * mega, cpu_banksize =...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Program ROM: size 0x010000, crc32 0x4377a06f That's half the PRG you should have gotten... Character ROM: size 0x0040000, crc32 0x4f46913b That's twice as big as the CHR you should have gotten... How did that even happen? The script I provided shouldn't have been able to make a dump that big. I ret...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Thanks so much for your help, lidnariq! Unfortunately, the script for mapper 152 didn't yield a working ROM. Here are the results: Program ROM: size 0x010000, crc32 0x4377a06f Character ROM: size 0x0040000, crc32 0x4f46913b As for fixing the script for Lum... edit: ...maybe I should try actually rea...
