Re: FME-7 and SUBNSOFT 5B are different?

Gimmick! is a awesome game. And it's soo hard it's even funny in a very sadistic way . You're right it's a great game, I have completed the european version of it, Mr Gimmick!, several times. It's not that hard. Where did the us version come from? Is there some differences from european version to ...

Re: Looking to compose music for NES Games

Nice music, unfortunately I'm not able to focus on the music in my game just yet. I will save you in my memory for the future :)

- Asm6 does not use . before .db, .dw, .byte, .word keywords. Just remove the dot
I use the dots all the time with asm6 without problems.

Well I can now also recommend others using Microsoft Visual C# 2010 Express, it sure was fast to learn. Thanks to oRBIT2002 for suggesting. I tried to make my own version of the NES Space Checker, here's a screen shot: hope you don't mind Shiru for this cheap ripoff :D https://sites.google.com/site/...

OK, I think I will go with C# and .NET as I will probably only make dev tools or other applications for myself (Windows).
Anyway, how many of you are running some type of Linux as your main OS?

Learn to make Dev tools with GUI

I want to learn how to make my own customized dev tools with GUI, like Shiru's "NES Space checker" for example. Where to begin? which language should I choose and why? What language do you use? I know some c++ but have only ever made console applications, I want to learn how to make GUIs as well. An...

Try 9 instead of 7, see how that goes. I have actually tried a few different skipped entries per sprite as well as per frame, and these are the numbers (7 and 24) that I think looked the best. You might save some CPU time by only doing this to the unused sprites, once you're finished defines the on...

I want your opinion on the OAM cycling show in this .nes file . What do you think, is it good, does it look too horrible? The techniques I'm using are: a. Write #$F0 to all sprite entry's Y-position first of all. b. skip 7 entries (28 bytes) between sprite writes. c. add 24 entries (96 bytes) to the...

Initializing the stack

As far as I know the stack pointer points to the first free space in the stack. So when the stack pointer is set up like this: LDX #$FF TXS ; Set up stack the first free space is in RAM address $00FF or is the stack always in page 1? that would mean the first free space is in $01FF. This also gets m...

I guess this is only the intro scene to the game, but then there's no game either and the readme.txt file isn't really explaining a lot. If it's intended as the intro to a horror type game, then it makes sense but otherwise...
