Re: Castlevania III MMC3 hack

So, is this possible?, do we have a CV3 in MMC3 mapper, that would become really nice for a multicart.. Yeah i was alway's wondering how Castlevania 3 would run on a mmc3 chip ,as i don’t i just don’t think that this game will take much benefit from the mmc5 chip ,other then using bankswitching in ...

Re: [NES] Ramses Game

Ramses Game is my NES homebrew. Story Ramses (the hero) was kidnapped from his home by space pirates and sold at a slave auction in the Artajian system to a cruel master named Bonehammer. Now he finds himself on a monster-infested planet, trapped in a strange prison with a bomb strapped to his ches...

Re: Parallax scrolling

To me it sounds logical that a mask ROM, which is a custom part, would cost more than an off the shelf part, but I can't back this up. There's also the fact that by using CHR-RAM you can save some money on the mapper, because CHR-RAM is versatile by nature, while CHR-ROM needs fine bankswitching (w...

Re: 15 or 16bit audio???

I noticed that the DSP configuration I used wasn't as loud as it could be, and thus wasn't using the full DAC precision. Here's an updated one: blargg_near_cd_quality2.7z ( mirror ). I've also updated the link in the original message. Before I had a single FIR constant of $3F (49%) and evol of $7F ...

Re:

It's progressive in the sense that it's not interlaced. Most (all?) NTSC TVs determine whether a field is even or odd by counting the scanlines of the previous field. If you output fields that all have the same number of scanlines, you trick the TV into becoming a non-interlaced 60 frames-per-secon...

Re:

Wow I didn't think it would be that long. Well the obvious difference between the noise channel and white noise is that white noise has random amplitudes for the wave, but the NES noise channel is just a 1-bit amplitude. speaking about the nes noise channel i have discovered that the noise channel ...

i finaly know how to get save state to work but the way to do that is pretty weird. after unzipping the mapper in the cd flashcard directory, you got to go to the savestate mapper and then copy those maps map00 mapp01 map02 etc,, to the powerpak mappers, and you must replace the map00,map01 etc,,,insi...
