Re: Akira translated cart

Famirom will split roms to appropriate sizes. DL from here:
http://retro.angelfire.com/kingmercury/

Itll also give you the hash for the chr, you can compare translated vs original rom chrs to see if theyve changed. It wont do halves though, only the whole.

Shrug, 3V IC. Why didn't they just use 39SF040 instead.
Does it look like the voltage is handled correctly?

That was part of my motivation to get the cart dumped, i wasnt sure what was happening inside. I didn't want to risk damaging my hardware by plugging it in anymore than i had to.

Re: Mega Man 9 remade into an NES ROM

Q: Is this legal? A: This is a fanmade labor of love that does not intend to infringe upon any distribution or sale of the original Mega Man 9. This recreation is intended to serve as a fun ‘what-if’ project . No. Not that i care but none of your answer matters. If you hope to see it through you mi...

Re: Recca cart authenticity

Of course, now that we've seen exactly what a real Recca cartridge board looks like, the counterfeiters will also know what to make them look like... that tkrom style bootleg board already has pins close enough I wasn't sure (vs the much more obvious pins in the 1st post). and without a proper refe...

Re: Recca cart authenticity

Sorry my lighting isn't the best. HVC-TLROM-04

Its also pretty wild they have original mmc3 chips. Those have to be harvested from real carts right?

Re: Recca cart authenticity

Glad to help. If anyone wants pics of anything specific let me know.

I was worried about the label because its really sharp. The close ups show the screen printing but its so fine its very hard to tell in person.

Re: Diagnosing NES graphics corruption

It does appear ppu pin 33 has no continuity to the 373. The surrounding ppu pins connect in sequence to 373 inputs so i have a reasonable guess where it should go. Ill try to patch it tonight and report back. Just to understand your reasoning, you are saying ppu ad0-ad4 are working to address a 32 b...

Diagnosing NES graphics corruption

Howdy, anyone have ideas whats wrong with this toploader? Nothing obviously wrong with the board. Ive swapped vram on the board and the ppu and results are the same. Screenshot is title screen of action 53 vol 3. Other carts behave similarly. Haven't found any that show correctly. Program and sound ...

Re: TL-ROM Splatterhouse

1.2a is the 1.2 patch + bugfix. I named it that to differentiate for myself. The mmc3 patch copies and rearranges a large chunk of the chr. If you're applying translation after, its not hitting anything above 128k chr. Translation should be first, then mmc3. This may end up being incompatible either...

Re: TL-ROM Splatterhouse

Where are you checking mirroring in fceux? The nametable viewer? If so i believe having it open will force fixed mirroring. Close everything and try again. Post a screenshot of what you hex edited if that doesn't work
