Re: NES Cart DB down again

On the backup drive which won't mount; have you tried seeing if you can get to the partition via testdisk?

Re: NESRGB on Toploader w/ Expansion Audio using NESRGB Audi

Basically go pin 51 -> 1.2k Ohm resistor -> spot on the NESRGB with 2 resistors shown in this image

I think that should do it

Re: Issue making TMNT 1 MMC3 Reproduction

Ok I put it on a TSROM board and the graphics are even worse than before but I can hear the music of the game running.

Re: Issue making TMNT 1 MMC3 Reproduction

Both famirom and nesmapperprogram showed me no RAM. Is there another way to double check to see if it does need WRAM?

Are you sure? The board in your picture says TLSROM, which is not compatible with the "standard" MMC3 configuration.
Ah good catch, the other board I tried it on with the same end issue/result is TLROM

Re: Issue making TMNT 1 MMC3 Reproduction

I actually have tried it on 2 different TLROM donor boards and 4 total different eprom, same issue on them all.
I almost feel like it's got to be something with the patch. Which if that's the case I doubt I'd be able to fix it as assembly is a bit over my head

Issue making TMNT 1 MMC3 Reproduction

I'm using a TLROM board. I applied infidelity's MMC3 patch from v9.1 to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (U).nes and the resulting rom plays fine on my Everdrive N8 and in FECUX. I split and pad it my normal way using famirom and solder the programmed eprom down using these directions: PRG ROM: Pin 1 No...

Re: Issue trying to make Mega Man Origins

A18 and A19, MMC5 65 and 66, have continuity to the PRG spot by default. Any idea what line would be missing? In fact, A19, A18, A17 and A16 all have continuity back to the correct pins on the MMC5. Pin 22, /CE, doesn't have connection to the MMC5 chip but is instead directly connected to cart pin 1...

can also use the Sonicare bases with UV sterilization. Takes about 2.5-3 cycles.

Re: Issue trying to make Mega Man Origins

Yeah I don't understand why this NES-ELROM board doesn't support > 256kb (it's laser invasion).
If anyone knows the reason I'd love to know just to see if it can be gotten around.

The wiki says they go up to 1024.

Issue trying to make Mega Man Origins

I took a NES ELROM board and removed the PRG and CHR ROM. I patched a copy of megaman 1 per the readme and the resulting patched rom plays ok on an emulator. I removed the header and burned it to an AM27C040-120DC, installed that eprom and rewired pins 1,2, 24,30 and 31. I installed some 62256 RAM i...

Re: Adding SRAM and Battery to MMC5

Ah good call on using pin 83. I was also using some other references for making final fantasy III where they put CHR RAM in place of CHR ROM and rewired it a bit.

Re: Adding SRAM and Battery to MMC5

Is it possible that the MMC5 chip handles the battery/VCC handoff? The reason I ask is RAM pin 28 on a famicom cartridge (EWROM) has direct continuity with pin 56 of the MMC5 chip which is labeled PRG RAM VCC. MMC5 pin 57 runs through a 1k resistor and to the Vbb+. With the cartridge out of the syst...

Re: Adding SRAM and Battery to MMC5

Yup just trying to do EKROM.
I only need 8k for it to work but I've got chip pulls of different chips like Panasonic MN4464-08LL and NEC 64S20. My understanding is they both share the same standardized pinout.

I only need 8k SRAM for the save game function for what I want to make.
