Re: COOLBOY cartridges - ultracheap selfmade Famicom multica

Is there any reason why one couldn't use a clamp-on pin header over the PRG itself and reflash without desoldering?

Re: COOLBOY cartridges - ultracheap selfmade Famicom multica

I watched the video with transliterated captions but it's difficult.

I've been tinkering with Coolboy carts for a while. but I'd never worked out how to rewrite them.

How do you change the game names, build the multiROM etc? Will you make tools available?

Re: I want to make a Little Samson reproduction; need advice

Probably it will. I got it to run an Roger Clemens MVP Baseball PCB, and that's essentially TKROM.

So it runs the AUTORUN.NES at boot? Not showing the intro screen at all?

Re: INL FlashCart - New Host App (R11) + Firmware Rewrite (P

Stumbled over this while scrambling to find a way to play Zelda Parallel Worlds. INL-Retro-Prog was kind of... ickish. And giving me black screen on boot despite my padding, CRC fixing and everything This software worked perfectly the first time and doesn't do that annoying "Not Responding" thing. T...

Re: Acclaim 51555 PCB compatibility

Bit of a L8L8L8 bump. But I just re-did it with a newer PCB.

Turns out, the 5155 PCB's with the Nintendo MMC3 -ARE- wired for EPROMs.

The 5155's with the cloned MMC3 are wired for EPROMs on the PRG, but the CHR side still needs some rewiring.

Just played Bio Force Ape on my shiny new test cart!

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Mine has an issue. When I tried to dump games using the Kazzo firmware on my INL pcb.

It gets about 5% in and then it barks and growls at me and throws up an error message that says "No Error"

The documentation has nothing explaining this? Help?

Re: Everdrive - garbled graphics in final fantasy - advice?

Buy a PowerPak :-p

Honestly, seems like your Everdrive is a faulty unit. It's just Final Fantasy and hacks of FF you get this distortion on, or are there other games that used the same mapper that you get it on?

You may need to return it for a replacement.

Re: CHR /OE vs /CE

These carts can also be modified by, IIRC, pulling CHR OE from the CHR-RAM and running a line to CHR A17. I own one of these carts and the A17 pin was damaged, so I put it into an NES cart with a NES-JOINT-01 and soldered right into the A17 VIA on the NES-JOINT-01. It works like a charm. Ya gotta be...

Not as perfect as I thought. PRG works perfectly, CHR has corruption. the tiles are THERE, but all messed up.

Dunno bout SNES as I've never done any SNES stuff.

But I own a TOP3000, it's a 48-pin device and does 27c322 without issue.

Software's a bit crap but once you get used to it it's fine.

Re: Malfunctioning Willem EPROM programmer.

I don't know why people keep buying Willem. I can't fix the issue because Willem designs are just so flaky it could almost literally be ANYTHING. I would recommend, if you decide to buy a new programmer, get a MiniPro TL866CS or TL866A. Those will do pretty much everything NES, and be about the same...
