Twin famicom assembly
So I bought a broken Twin Famicom and successfully brought it back to life (CPU died). However, I don't remember how to assemble the famicom assembly portion. Namely the big tension spring. I don't remember where I took it off from. http://retrostuff.org/wp-content/uploads/2012/12/ttf_famicom_thumb....

Re: need to fix a modded top loader
Preferably you want to do it on a board and not 'dead bug' it. You can buy cheap 4x6 CM 'prototype' boards on ebay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lot-5pcs-4cmx6cm-Double-side-Protoboard-Circuit-Fibre-Glass-Prototype-PCB-Board-/281357796654?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item41823b452e Of course you only n...

Re: Is it possible to change commercial game mappers?
No, it only seems to work for certain games. All Koei games using MMC5 crash.

Is it possible to change commercial game mappers?
What I mean is, is it possible to change a commercials game mapper to use another? I know this has been done with hacks such as mega man 4, but can this be done to Koei games using the MMC5 mapper and switch it to a more common mapper? Is it one of those things that is possible, but extremely diffic...

NES Game cartridge pin clean up
So I was going through my games and had a SMB2 cart that just wouldnt boot. Cleaned the pins with alcohol, still wouldn't boot. Took it apart and there was a lot of black crud on the pinouts: http://i.imgur.com/ajWpvj9l.jpg http://i.imgur.com/yZdIFQal.jpg So I got some aluminum polish I bought from ...

Re: SNES PowerPak
Is there a way to downgrade? I updated to 2.02 and now my CF card cannot be read. It worked fine with v2.00. I formatted the CF card using Fat32, tried again and it just gives garbage characters when trying to read the CF card. The actual boot menu is fine but cannot read the directories or files co...

Re: RGB output from composite PPU
I don't know that they are really rare, but around the time that Component Video became more common on devices such as DVD players. Digital TVs like LCDs were coming out and had Component, and cheaper CRT TVs tended to be lucky to have S-Video much less Component. Component was probably more common...

Re: RGB output from composite PPU
Only thing annoying me is everyone calling the guy a genius when it was thefox's brain child. I ordered one, $90 is somewhat fair, still cheaper than a RGB ppu. Kinda lame there is no component out and his only comment about that was that tvs with component inputs are 'relatively new'...what the hell?

Oh I see, I never bothered to look there. I was rather confused that pin 9 was missing from the schematic.
