Re: Animating Nam Tables?

Ok so, I had a chat with Chris Torres. He likes my project but understandably he can't allow is art to be used commercially by anyone. So I've respectfully stopped work on this project. It's a shame but it's the right thing to do.

I've uploaded the Nyan.nsf in the event that anyone wants it.

Re: Animating Nam Tables?

Yeah, I've fiddled with the bank switching commands quite alot. I've not had any luck getting #NO-BANKSWTCH or #SETBANK to work in my favor.

Re: Animating Nam Tables?

Hmmmm, Well my nsf is currently 24K, but that is only because mml/ppmck is forcing my samples into bank 2 and all my song data is in bank 0. So I have an entire bank in between filled with nothing. I don't really know how to force the banks to merge since my samples are only 2129 bytes, and my song ...

Re: Animating Nam Tables?

Ok, here are my NAM frames. Their are 7 unique frames repeating twice. So 14 frames in total. I need 14 so I can add the stars at a later day (They move slower than the cat's animation). but the essentials are here. I have 3 locations that I need to hide using sprites, Two of which must be hidden si...

Re: Animating Nam Tables?

indeed the upper and lower portions are slightly cut off by the CRT I have at home. I'm not too worried about the inevitable crop.

Re: Animating Nam Tables?

haha. Yeah, that is still sitting in the backseat right now. Attached is the rom I was making using yours and lidnariq's help from that thread. I just haven't written any more songs, or transcribed my remaining two into MML yet. Their currently in a midi format for use with MidiNES. That being said ...

Re: Animating Nam Tables?

I don't need to scroll, sir ;P. And forgive my ignorance but most of that went right over my head. I'm not really a coder. I'm a musician. Been using MML and a modified vegaplay for making roms. So I don't know how to perform those tasks myself unfortunately. And no I have one frame done. I released...

Re: Animating Nam Tables?

just simple stuff. I'm only using 4 locations in my CHR that are completely filled with the 4 possible pallet colors and I am drawing on the NAM level of things switching pallets for the colors I want. I just want to create like... lets say 5-10, nam files containing 1 frame of the animation each. t...

Animating Nam Tables?

Hello all. So I have a quick question/favor to ask. Is it possible to animate a bacground nam table so that I can create frames of nam tables that the rom will cycle through? My goal is to use vegaplay for audio but have a animated background cycling indefinitely. Also I am curious if there is any t...

Re: Smallest eeprom for MMC5 carts?

Thanks for trying to help, but I don't quite understand. What is needed to be done to pins 1,2,3, 30, 31 and 32 on my socket if I want to use a 28pin eprom or even just a larger one with grounded A pins? Are those the inputs and output you speak of? Do I ground the A pin and leave the socket floatin...

Re: Smallest eeprom for MMC5 carts?

Ok got one more question. You say to ground the higher numbered A pins for using it as a smaller eprom. what if I use a 28 pin eprom like a 27c256, are those floating pins on my socket going to be an obstacle, or will the mapper even care that they are floating? I think you mean that when grounding ...

Re: Smallest eeprom for MMC5 carts?

I think the implication was as long as you have the socket wired this way, it will only allow 32k Cause some dev carts that require rewiring like this aren't exactly very fun to keep opening up and rewiring every time a new size of memory is desired. I'm using ribbon cable to move the socket locatio...

Re: Smallest eeprom for MMC5 carts?

Ok, I think I'm understanding things a bit better now. Lets say I have a 32 pin socket wired up with all the appropriate Pins going to their proper vias, based on this guide I could put in a dip switch to redirect power to pin 30 on the socket for using dip28 packages, and install them shifted down ...

Re: Smallest eeprom for MMC5 carts?

wow, is it really that little bit of code that allows such a thing? thats cool! How would this stapling of programs work exactly? like combining with 'copy /b' or some other method within the ASM?

Re: Smallest eeprom for MMC5 carts?

Yes, it's that version, except I added this right before the ClearMemory section SetMMC5: lda #$ff sta $5117 lda #$00 sta $5100 ;set mmc5 to 32k PRG bankswitch mode And I made the header correct for mapper 05. Also I use MML/ppMCK to write my nsfs There is one other modified version of vegaplay that...
