Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Hmm odd, I think perhaps my crop settings were already set to cut those pixels out. My apologies

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

No problem!

kevtris, could the Sunsoft 5b expansion sound be increased in volume? I turned the volume slider all the way up to FF, but it's really quiet, it was the same with v2.25.

Thanks!

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Awesome work, thanks for your hard work Kev! Any chance someone could comment on my wavy lines (missing pixel) issue at the top of the image? Are people not having the same problem? If so, is it just not bothering you or is there a way to make it better? Thanks Nic I had the same issue with v2.25, ...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Are you comparing 1080p vs. 720p though? at 720 it's possible that the TV's built in scaler is doing some blending. I think the solution people are going for is to just use integer scaling right now. I don't have enough resources to do any other type of horizontal blending/interpolation on it. Ah t...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

I would love to use the unsaturated v6 pallete, in particular, which was posted before me! EDIT: also was wondering if there's a way to decrease the "shimmering" effect when scrolling horizontally at non-integer scales? Only reason I ask is because the AVS seems to do a slightly better job at this a...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Will there will be a way to flash custom palettes to the hi-def nes in the future, similar to the nesrgb? I wanted to try out Firebrand's unsaturated v6 palette and I noticed a few requests for other palettes in this thread too. It might be impossible for all I know, just seems like a neat idea.

Re: Mesen - NES Emulator

Just wanted to say thanks for all the hard work! There's a lot of NES emulators out there so standing out is hard, but I'm very impressed by this so far and see a lot of potential

thanks again

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

I just tried Iron Tank with all 4 phase options on the rev G ppu I got and yeah, it does seem to be suffering from some artifacts on all phases

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

I've been considering buying another monitor specifically for this so that's useful for me to know! Only other very minor thing I've found since last post is that the Sunsoft 5b output seems to be a little bit quiet. I've turned it all the way up to max volume and it's still not as loud as my actual...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Found a bug with the 2A03 digital audio in Paperboy. After playing any DPCM(I think) sound effect (breaking a window, pressing down on the dpad to slow down, crashing the bike), none of the listed sound effects will play again. Pretty easy to reproduce, just press down on the dpad when you're on the...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Could you take some footage? I myself found Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa tricky to emulate the FDS sound correctly for, maybe I could help. Specifically, I went over it 3 years ago, and I updated the Wiki with information. There is a note pertinent to Bio Miracle here: http://wiki.nesdev.com/w/index.php...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Hello! I recently bought a pre-modded AV Famicom with v2.25 firmware and am loving it, just wanted to point out that Bio Miracle Bokutte Upa for Famicom Disk System is playing music incorrectly through the digital output with FDS enabled (only the FDS part is incorrect). This is using a real famico...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

I didn't notice any issues, that was in response to Noah98, who asked if anyone else experienced issues with Iron Tank. There is that individual line that flickers every once and a while, but it happens on both consoles so I figured it was normal

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Received the rev G PPU in the mail today, can confirm that it fixed the issues I was having! Every game I've tested so far looks perfect. Thanks! Will be shipping the rev H PPU soon. I tested Iron Tank out today, didn't see any differences between my unmodded AV Famicom and hi-def modded system, bot...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

Yeah it's the PPU's fault, iirc this one was done right before I found out about the laser marked chip issue. I'll send you a G rev ppu. Thank you! I appreciate it :) and no problem, can completely understand how this would happen. I'm Cray Elliott, if you still have access to addresses from previo...
