Re: 4k tvs and classic systems...

I don't know what to say. I could plug a NES/SNES/N64 into my 1080p 50 inch Vizio television without issue but this new 70" Vizio 4k does nothing. I even bought the $50 hdmi converter box and the picture jitters. Worse on certain games/sections the picture would just just out for 2-3 seconds. This m...

Re: 4k tvs and classic systems...

I finally broke down and bought a Retron 5. Got crazy lucky (imo). Local Game Stop had one in their district so I asked them to get it shipped to the store. $139.99 + tax brand new 1 year warranty. I have been hoarded Power Up Pro points for a year or two though so I got to use a $50, $25, $15, $10,...

Re: SNES Game genie problem

I feel like the thread is already past the topic of cleaning and abrasives but I figure Ill throw this out there just for some food for thought. Around me you can buy the Magic Erase cleaner at Wal-Mart in a 2 pack for less than $5. I can also find a single piece at the local Dollar Tree for $1. I j...

Re: SNES Game genie problem

Ive cleaned up connectors before using a magic eraser and rubbing alcohol. Just be careful. I would not recommend doing more than a pass or two at a time with the eraser wet with the rubbing alcohol. Too many passes will result in the chips being worn down because of the magic eraser being similar t...

Re: Could I power my NES with a 9V battery?

Just throwing this out: I love my Retro Duo Portable 2.0. Not only does it play NES/SNES/Game Boy/Sega/Game Boy Advance, but it supports 2 SNES controllers and can hook up to a TV that still has RCA cords. All this and one less reason for the TSA to beat me down/cavity search me for having a battery...

Re: Repo's from scratch

Just throwing an idea out there. But there is alternatives such as InfiniteNESlives.com boards and DIY boards like found here http://www.retrostage.net/

Might not be exactly what you wanted but just in case I figured I would post

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Kind of curious if anyone else has had this issue with the Kazzo programmer. I went to burn Super Mario The Lost Adventure 3 yesterday and for the life of me could not get it to save. I swapped out a battery and still nothing. I burned the rom again and still nothing. I assumed that there was some h...

Re: Kazzo USB rom dumper / dev cart programmer

Can anyone confirm if the Super Mario World hack called "Brutal Mario" works with the inl snes boards? I see people selling reproductions of it so I assume it runs on real hardware, but when I flashed the game and tried it out the snes played the coin sound effect and black screened upon booting up...

Re: 4k tvs and classic systems...

Weird. All I know is Best Buy sells it as a "tv". Lets hope that tv/display/monitor ect does not become an interchangeable phrase. I get the feeling that will destroy classic gaming abilities very quickly.

Re: 4k tvs and classic systems...

Should be this one I purchased from Best Buy. If its really needed, I can dig out the receipt and double check but at a quick visual glance, it looks right. http://www.bestbuy.com/site/vizio-70-class-69-5-diag--led-2160p-with-chromecast-built-in-4k-ultra-hd-home-theater-display-black/5609000.p?skuId...

Re: 4k tvs and classic systems...

I have no idea why or how this is even possible... However here goes: Vizio in their quest to cut down on costs removed the coax plug from this model tv and seem to think this is a good idea. Classic gamers and even the average person with coax cable might think differently. I decided to buy a coax ...

Re: 4k tvs and classic systems...

OK so I took a few videos and my camera has a extremely hard time picking up on the errors. I fooled with the settings on the TV a bit and its not as noticeable off the vivid setting and full screen stretched image. The owner of my local retro store bought a new 4k tv for his Xbox One S as well (com...

Re: 4k tvs and classic systems...

I would like to post a video here online to show what its doing. Is there any easy way to do it without making a video, uploading it to Youtube and then posting here?

Re: 4k tvs and classic systems...

I can play games pretty well. Such as Road Rash 64. The game plays perfectly fine its just the menu seems to bounce a little. Bomberman 2 SNES plays perfectly fine except the menu and the top left hand corner of the score board has a little bounce as well. Games like Zelda NES however the entire scr...

4k tvs and classic systems...

Guys I bought a new 70" Vizio 4k television on the 22nd of October. It does not recognize the traditional plugs into the composite side even though my old 50 inch Vizio 1080p tv does. I bought a composite to hdmi converter and the picture looks great on most games, but with slight bounce. Super Bomb...
