Thank you for your responses so much.

it's a bit of a shame that there's no easy way to test TV color sensitivity. i'll have to use a NES to test out if the tv will accept certain games

Bump! I think the OP's questions were not answered properly. Little Samson has horizontal and vertical movement adjusted. Interesting, i heard somewhere on this board that the awful 60hz buzz in 'Dizzy the adventurer' is caused by the same issues. Are there games developed by other companies that program the sound engine in a similar fashion cause the same static noises where silence is supposed to be?

Sorry to bump this for anyone tied the the thread, but i've come across another weird quirk in codemasters games. Which bytes in the INES header (i assume you're talking about that) do i change on Micro Machines/ Ultimate Stuntman to make it a UNROM game? i attempted to replicate headers on other UNROM games with no success.

Thank you for all the replies in such short notice.

The screenshots that rainwarrior posted were exactly what I was getting on my everdrive setup, so it's a mapper problem, huh?

So all I have to do to get codemasters games functioning properly is to mod the header?

Nope, not that either, i downloaded 3 roms of micro machines (aladdin) and all run the same way. US Cart dump doesn't even boot.

I have heard of the "Too Black" Palette entry on the NES. But i have tested this on multiple TVs (including a modern flat-screen) and got identical responses to my normal TV.
