Re: Zeldaesque Topdown project sneak peek

Looks good, have you considered the player having a whip?
How would that play out (no pun) in a top down game?

Would the extended hit range work in favor or against?

Because I always wanted a castlevaniasque action rpg!

Re: Merging roms and screenshots into a single franken file?

Is such the case for all browser supported image formats?

Re: Mesen - NES Emulator

I'd much rather see other libretro cores work in Mesen! How about including a public domain screensaver, instead of that black screen: http://abload.de/img/fireplace4cxvs.png http://abload.de/img/nestify4zy51.png That or at least have some snow, like zsnes! :) fireplace https://forums.nesdev.com/vie...

Merging roms and screenshots into a single franken file?

Would it be hard to Frankenstein a two 2 in 1 screenshot image file with an embedded rom?

So if you load it on a web site, or in a picture viewer, just the image would show, like a normal PNG.

But when you load it in an emulator, the embedded rom plays? No nefarious reason i ask, totally not.

Re: Mesen - NES Emulator

Ok thanks for clearing that up, IANAC, I am not a coder! :)

Sour: What does Libretro support exactly mean on your roadmap, Libretro core support, or a mesen core for Libretro?

Re: Mesen - NES Emulator

To sidestep this selection dialogue, like when FdsBios.bin is present.

Because most bioses floating around on the net are indeed disksys.rom!

Compile-time conditions? How long does it take to compile Mesen?

Re: Mesen - NES Emulator

You could get the whole thing under 5MB this way, save another 0.06$ worth of disk space! No reason really, except that many people prefer portable stuff playable from flashdrives. Could you also make it recognize disksys.rom (like fceux) and not just FdsBios.bin? puNES (for example) turns portable,...

Re: Mesen - NES Emulator

Sour: Have you considered a dedicated portable build? Something that saves settings into the home folder by default, has no startup wizard, has no updater, no google drive integration, no built in database (so the GoogleDrive folder, MesenUpdater.exe & MesenDB.txt are not created/recreated or even i...

Re: "City Trouble" by Den Kat Games

I don't think so, "boxes on shelves putters" seem to live in a pretend world without emulation. And without a rom nobody can start working on a nude patch... :) Maybe you could release a 1 level demo rom? With a picture of the cart package at the end! For example, i played the legends of owlia demo ...

Re: "City Trouble" by Den Kat Games

Since you asked for it, why is there no digital (rom file) purchase option?

Not everyone is a "real hardware purist" or a collector, i just play games.

For the impatient, there is an open-source city-building game for the GBC:

Does the dogbone/snes dpad fit into the original controller?

So i really dislike the glossy directional pad (dpad) on the original NES controller.

Now i wonder if the mat dpad from the dogbone (or snes) controller would fit into the NES shell!

Can someone confirm? Thanks
