Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

This existed prior to the update; You'll want to disable these extra channels if the game you're playing doesn't support them. From what I gather, enabling these is like switching to an input on a stereo amplifier that doesn't have anything plugged into it, you'd just get ambient electrical signals...

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

I just updated to 3.01. The new Palettes are cool!

I only have one problem at the moment and it involves the extra sound channels. Sometimes I get a loud buzzing if Sunsoft 5B and/or VRC6 is enabled. It depends on the NSF or game. I can post a sound sample if needed.

I spoke too soon! I found a zip file I had saved with an m.map and nsf.nes dated 11/10/2008 that seems to work great with VRC6 NSF files, but not at all with N106 ones. I think I got this zip file from Loopy's site back in the day.

Joe1088, does your NSF player play N106-enabled NSF files?

I had this problem as well (only it was just the NSFs that were missing extra audio), and it was resolved by replacing a certain mapper file with an old version of it. I think it was M.MAP. Try replacing M.MAP with a pre-1.34 version and see if that helps. I tried replacing M.Map and NSF.NES from a...

Updated Powerpak to 1.34 and mostly lost extra sound

Well, I decided to update my Powerpak mappers from 1.32 (plus the loopy mappers) to 1.34 and have encountered a problem with playing NSFs or games with extra sound channels. Some games play the extra audio, while none of my NSFs will. Everything worked fine before updating. Here's what I've done so ...

The opening credits spell it "SAM/UR/I", showing one syllable at once, but the DVD box spells it "SAMURAI". As far as I can tell, it's "SAMURAI" when written on one line and "SAM/UR/I" when each syllable fills the screen. But the logo resembles that of Super Mario Bros. 3 and might not even need co...

Thanks, everyone, for the input. Oh, and does anyone know what might happen if I plug my Famicom AV in with the polarity the wrong way. I mean, apart from being dead - is there an on-board fuse or will I have fried something bad? Hopefully you didn't blow every chip on the board like I did w...

Awesome, thanks! Is there any chance you could take a pic of both sides? It's a little hard to see in the vid. :(

Also the famicom doesnt have the extra sound. The CART has the extra sound on famicoms. Famicoms just support a pin on the cart slot to mix it in with the famicoms soundpath. If I use the powerpak in my original famicom ( that I had to repair after I blew every chip on the thing ), I should get the...

Looks like the 1 gig card I grabbed from work works fine. The 64 meg card I was using still works in my old digital camera, but not in the Powerpak anymore.

At least it seems that my probs have been solved! :D

Well, I just got back from my trip and it doesn't work on my NESes (front or top loader) or famicom anymore either. :(

"10 Fatal Card Read Error"

I will borrow a CF card from work tomorrow and test it, just to make sure it's not the PowerPak.

Powerpak card read problems. :(

Well, my Powerpak has decided to stop reading compact flash cards for some reason. It was working great until this week when I flew to NY for Thanksgiving and brought my Powerpak with me. Tried it in my bro's NES and another relatives' NES and they both are giving me "Fatal Card Read Error" messages...
