Re: Forever DUO 852 Games of NES (405+447)

This board was discussed some time ago on emu-land http://www.emu-land.net/forum/index.php ... msg1428464
Scheme was changed to work with Cluster's dumper and ROM builder. Also some mapper kits are available.

Re: Mapper hacking and debugging.

Seems latch signal doesn't match to clock signal. If you have logic analyzer, you can check signals. Or you can choose the right capacitor.

Re: Mapper hacking and debugging.

I've changed mapper register address from $4100 to $6100. You can change bytes in ROM by addresses $1e021 and $1e198 ($41 to $61) Also you need 74hc161 as latch and 74hc00 for signal inversion (you can use any other logic or transistor for this purpose). PRG RAM /CE (pin30 MMC3) -> pin12+pin13 74hc0...

Re: Broken PPUs/CPUs from China

It is hard to find working UA6528 on aliexpess. I also bought a couple from different stores and both were defective. So if you need ntsc chips it is better to buy famicom board in Japan.

Would be more accurate to test in a real Famicom, not a clone console.
Always do tests on famicom, because handheld console has lower logic levels, so sometimes game works fine on it but not on famicom.
So glitches that I talk about was reproduced on famicom.

Re: Jaleco SS 88006

I assembled game without 74hc32 (probably it was pcb from "Terao no Dosukoi Oozumou"), and it worked but with horizontal lines in some places.
I didn't notice them at first, but then I decided to add 74hc32 and picture became clear.
Seems I have photo only after installation of hc32

I have removed the IRQ emulation for now, since it's not used by any game anyway, and uploaded a new build.
Now it works fine. :D

Re: Mapper hacking and debugging.

Mapper 115 is more suitable Do you know any donor with this mapper? i have reversed this cart. it works well on a pal/dendy console, but it crashes on another ntsc famiclone. this game was developped by hummer team in taiwan in 1994. i guess this released version is for pal system only This game wo...

Re: Jaleco SS 88006

Without 74hc32 game is running with some graphical glitches, so it is better to install one. E.g. for Toukon Club repro.

Re: X1-017 testing

Have you already patched the translation to write the necessarily different bank numbers? Yes it runs on hardware but has not fully tested yet. SD Keiji - Blader (J)[T-En1.01+552].ips.7z Current NintendulatorNRS supports mapper 552 with the correct [..ABCDEF] bank order, if you need something to te...

Re: X1-017 testing

here is my ROM conversion utility. Works fine for 128KB prg, but not for 256KB. There is no sense to change a17 address bit, because its on the place already. Anyway we don't have original 256KB prg roms, and custom rom will not work without patch. Just tried to use your tool to make correct bank o...

I'd think VRC4/6/7 should be doable?

You could also look at my mappers summary
Thank you for such useful table. I haven't seen it before. I gonna try vrc4.

Re: RAMBO-1 Mapper Investigation

NewRisingSun, do you know any mapper that can be used instead of rambo-1? I mean the same bank organization and IRQ. E.g. I converted "Shinobi" to mapper 80, but this game is not using IRQ, so I can't use the same approach for "Skull & Crossbones".

Re: Mapper hacking and debugging.

I thought about mmc5 because it supports 512KB of chr.
But I've done this game on mmc3 with additional logic.

By the way Cobra Mission can be easily converted to mmc3, I can give you the patch.

Re: reversing mapper268: coolboy/mindkids

Its not clear what exactly has been reversed. I thought that fceux already has an exact implementation of coolboy mapper.
