Re: Best clone cpu/ppu for opentendo NESRGB Everdrive use?
you can find a junked Famicom lot for extremely cheap, and those aren't guaranteed G revision chips. Actually it is guaranteed, if label has FF mark. Any famiclone chip has issue with swapped emphasis bits (not sure that it is matter for NESRGB), most cpu have swapped duty cycles. And all clone ppu...

Re: Family Computer blue screen
You won't find working ua6527 in aliexpress. In most cases it would be ua6528p with changed marking.
Probably your current cpu isn't dead. Check the contact in the slot and use working cartridge.

Re: Best clone cpu/ppu for opentendo NESRGB Everdrive use?
Why you want to find cpu clones? Now it is hard to do, because of too many faulty ones from aliexpress. For NTSC system it is better to use original ppu and cpu of G revision. You can buy famicom or NES board to desolder.

I saw the model with builtin UV lamp. I also have a couple of such cartridges. They are used for distribution of Super Maruo adult game.

Re: Glitched sprites using Game Doctor 6+ with Playchoice PPU
CHR memory address bus. The noise is appearing due to not correct address set for chr memory, but after some time address becomes valid, and we see sprites more clear then the noise. So the question is why this delay happen. It can be result of slow memory, but device works fine with another console...

For me it looks like low voltage on address bus, so rising front delay happen. Maybe I'm wrong.

Re: VRC4 reproduction problems
It can be problem with all of your eeproms or installed mapper revision doesn't support management of a17 chr. And probably it is done on purpose like the other Konami anti-piracy tricks.

Re: VRC6b conversion to VRC6a - Madara to Akumajo Densetsu question.
32pin 27x is compatible with konami board, but to place Akumajou Densetsu to Madara board you should swap two address for mapper (a0 and a1).

Re: White screen on new opentendo build, no signal on M2
Through an accidental shorting when two capacitor legs were touching, I started seeing a signal on M2, and trying it properly with no capacitors and direct connection across pads, it loads up a game. I know the case when CPU starts only with C44 2n2. And if you short pads then CPU can start heating...

Re: Converting PAL to NTSC using Famicom
PPU of E revision has a bug with reading palette, so using it with Everdrive leads to incorrect restoring of save states in games.

Re: White screen on new opentendo build, no signal on M2
All UMC CPUs are quite pickie to clock signal. So you can play around with capacitor between generator and cpu.

Re: Converting PAL to NTSC using Famicom
Depending on what's available to you, it might be preferable to use famiclone parts (e.g. UA6527, UA6528) instead of a real famicom, and/or to use the real famicom as a famicom. It is hard to find working ones. So buying a famicom is preferable. Also better to use processors with G or H revision, s...
