Funny that you mention that, I am actually using it as a test bed for level design.

Re: I want to make a Mega Man game for the NES

I think that the Mega Man games have been fairly well reverse engineered at this point, and I remember reading detailed descriptions of how the maps and physics work. Unfortunately I don't have any links, but if I ran into it once it can't be that hard to find. Where to start really depends on your...

I want to make a Mega Man game for the NES

I want to make a Mega Man game for the NES, I already made some music and some sprites, but I don't know how the MM engine works. I want this game's physics to be similar to MM2, but with sliding and charging. I also would like the game to not rely on passwords, but instead a battery save. Where do ...

Re: Easy way to learn to code the NES?

I've tried to learn a programming language, and it looked too complicated since I didn't know what the heck everything ment, so I just scrapped it, and yes I am WELL AWARE of NES Maker, too bad you need to pre-order it or buy it when it comes out, but I will try again to learn code.

Re: GBC to GB?

(kinda)Related: I wonder if you could port Super Mario Bros. Deluxe to the OGB(original Game Boy), and still keep the GBC functions when on GBC, and a more primitive version when running on the OGB?

What do you mean ridiculously unoptimized?

Re: How Does Paperboy's Scrolling Work

Even though I know NOTHING about the NES hardware (other than it has 2KB ram, a 6502, and it's cool.), my theory is that the road is part of the background and everything you see is just sprites, even the stripes, this is just a theory though, it is most likely INCORRECT.

Re: Cross-Platform Emulators?

You have a good point tepples, this is to test the compatibility on different systems I have, for testing purposes, since I am just now starting NES development, I figure I should start off by knowing what will work and what will not, as I do not have a real NES, and that's it.
