Removing/Disabling music but keeping sound effects

Would anyone have some advice about Removing/Disabling music but keeping the sound effects in a NES rom? I've tried a few things... just not sure where to begin. This is my 2nd hack; still noobing out hard here, but I'm pretty sure this game hasn't been hacked before. Check out my first hack if you ...

Implementing a "high score" function

Again guys Im a noob here so forgive me. What would the easiest possible way to implement a points system with "high score" function into the existing hex code of a rom? Could this be done in FCEUX?

Thanks in advance,

Re: FCEUX RAM PPU ROM edit

I've found the proper patterns in the hex rom data and made the corresponding changes that I wanted, but they dont reflect in the intro or end sequence (which are both animated). Ive made other in-game color edits with no issue.

Re: FCEUX RAM PPU ROM edit

Still having trouble finding the right 037E to edit. 05 is the number of continues. When i set it to 01, which is what I want, it behaves like a cheat that doesnt overwrite the .rom. I know this is a lot of trial and error so thanks for your support!

Re: FCEUX RAM PPU ROM edit

the address is 037E : 01 : --
RAM issue. I can get this to function as a cheat or if I freeze it (same thing). But Id really like this (no continues) to become a permanent part of the .rom file
