Re: Creating a Widescreen (16:9) NES-like Music Video

I meant add a border in that color. So you don't mean bleeds like with printing? This is what I initially thought: Here's an original aspect ratio: http://imageshack.com/a/img924/2518/xl6KEr.png Here's a 256x176 widescreen field (but my own graphics would be in there): http://imageshack.com/a/img92...

Re: Creating a Widescreen (16:9) NES-like Music Video

1. Pad to 280x180 pixels. Do you mean adding 'black space?' I understand the rest. Also, is there a video filter (hopefully that will work with VirtualDub) that can apply an NTSC effect similar to Blargg's Libraries: http://slack.net/~ant/libs/ntsc.html#nes_ntsc I was just going to add 'scanlines' ...

Re: Creating a Widescreen (16:9) NES-like Music Video

Macbee has made some demos using the full NES resolution, but made it so graphics optimized for widescreen, so it will look good on wide displays Interesting! I didn't think of that approach. :o But I'm already not used to dealing with slightly wider pixels. I can't imagine working with even wider ...

Creating a Widescreen (16:9) NES-like Music Video

I'm designing a music video for a VRC6 original I made exactly one year ago, and it will be NES-like (but to make everyone's lives easier, I'm not running it on real hardware [yet {maybe}]). I'm not making a rom, just an animation. I just finished storyboarding it, and I realized I went with a 16:9 ...

Re: Was the Nintendo DSi a flop?

I was only interested in a DSi for Shantae: Risky's Revenge, but ended up just waiting until the New 3DS came out and got that instead. (yes, this was 2015 [I'm behind in life :|])

Also, I heard most/all of the augmented reality games sucked or something? :?

Ass-Raping Pirates of the High Seas

So I just decided I wanted to listen to some Ass-Raping Pirates On the High Seas again, and the link doesn't work: http://www.parodius.com/~memblers/AssRapingPiratesOnTheHighSeas.zip I clicked on a bunch of other links on this page, and they're all fine: https://nesdev.com/2A03/ And before you guys ...

Re: Laptop Buying

I think I've finally found what I'm looking for: https://www.samsung.com/us/computing/windows-laptops/notebook-odyssey/notebook-odyssey-15-6--np800g5m-x01us/ -SSD + HDD combo -dedicated graphics processor (NVIDIA GeeForce) -920x1080 dimension -large enough for a numpad -no ODD -well-known brand -onl...

Re: Laptop Buying

I decided not to go with the Tecra (no dual drives, no GPU, haven't received a response from my email, and it still seems pretty pricey). I also decided that the Alienware was too big and I don't need that high of specs for what I'm doing. I checked out some MSI notebook reviews and about a third of...

Re: Laptop Buying

Now that I think about it... maybe brand loyalty isn't such a great idea: Toshiba laptops aren't readily available, they don't seem to have what I'm trying to achieve, and they're not being responsive. People have been making really cool Deep Learning based software to do cool things. For example, t...

Re: Laptop Buying

As I said in my first post, you'll probably find an occupied M2 slot for the SSD, and an empty HDD bay, plus the optical drive. So probably up to two HDDs (with caddy) + one SSD. I'm really hoping this is true, so I emailed the sales department a couple days back but they've yet to respond. :( Thos...

Re: Laptop Buying

Thanks, guys! After much consideration, I decided to go with a Tecra A50-E-BTO. Reasons include: • Intel i7 quad-core processor • large enough display (15.6-inch) • 1920x1080 resolution • updegradeable to 32 GB of RAM (I'll go with 16 GB for now) • I checked the ports and they all seem to be in plac...

Re: Laptop Buying

Okay, I just came back from Fry's Electronics. It pretty much looked like this throughout the store: https://s3-media4.fl.yelpcdn.com/bphoto/aYxEjTPyK-duGtiOKvJyEA/o.jpg https://i.imgur.com/58p8dLm.jpg Last time I was here was a year ago, building a desktop PC for my mom, and it did not look like th...

Laptop Buying

So my laptop turned 10 this year. I think I started using it July 13, 2009 based on file information. So I stopped everything I was doing and started looking into getting a new one. First of all, I'm biased towards Toshiba (this one is a Toshiba Satellite U505. It hardly had any problems that weren'...
