There is no such thing as "an NES palette that is as accurate as can be and that everyone can agree on."
Use the palette or emulator simulated tv settings that look most correct to you personally.

I don't think any NES emulator accurately emulates what can happen when writing to the PPU in an active scanline. An easy 'fix' for your program is: vblank NMI -> disable PPU -> upload data to PPU -> enable PPU. Also, be sure to do a sprite DMA every vblank, as sprite attribute RAM contents may dete...

I haven't worked on NES related things lately, keeping myself busy with MSX stuff instead, so I can't help you with any code or possible fixes in Sega Li. What I can tell you is that Jaleco sample player emulation is not accurate at all, it's enough to get the games working. So, if you find a way to...

It's easier (and more gratifying) for you to understand your mistakes if you find them yourself :)
If you really want someone else to repair it, request the topic to be moved to "Newbie Help Center".

"Space Shuttle Project (U) [!].nes" runs ok here, even in Nestopia, bad dump maybe? or you're talking about a different game? Just the column on the left? Or including the name table 1's and 0's on the right? 00 - One Screen Mirroring - Name/Attribute Table 0 01 - One Screen Mirroring - Name/Attribu...

In Sega Li, the only decoder properties I use are R-Y/G-Y/B-Y angles and gains, obtained from sources online, no adjustable black level or "yellow boost" (which is probably artificial in Nestopia). I convert these properties to a matrix and feed them to blargg's nes_ntsc. Point 3: Yes, the industria...

Nice conversion! :) That had to be done to write the tiles to CHR RAM quickly. I turned off the PPU and use the white palette. I didn't wanna write a few at a time. The white flash bothered me too. How about having 3 blocks tilesets in VRAM? Like this.. address i: tileset 1 address j: tileset 2 addr...

Maybe he likes the crisp 1:1 emulator look.

I don't know how to turn that off with ddraw. Over here I use a d3d renderer by default, that does support turning on/off bilinear filtering.

(because I assumed the patterns were fetched during the previous HBlank, after the sprites were evaluated)
Yes, approximate timing: clockcycles 260 to 320. Could you recheck your bankswitch timing?

Enemy design: you mean AI, or graphics?
If you mean graphics, do a bit of designing with pencil and paper first.
