Hmm, nice to see someone (Bootgod, Martin) step up. The way I see it, this new format is meant for preservation only (iNES2 can still exist for everything else: gaming, development, romhacking). The emulator, Nestopia in this case, is used as a tool to see if the data/info extracted from the board i...

Has the mapper (iNES #163) been properly reverse engineered? It's emulated in Nestopia, but implemented kinda weird, eg. doing a 4K chr bankswitch at the start of hblank on scanline 127.

The thing is, on NES emulators a low frequency triangle wave basically gets converted to a low volume squarewave with a frequency 32 (or 16?) times higher of that of the triangle wave.

APU: triangle frequency over $7E0

Summer Carnival '92 Recca often writes values of over $7E0 to the triangle frequency registers, it's safe to say that these frequencies are too low to be audible, so I presume it does this to shut off the triangle wave (similar to Megaman 2 writing a very short frequency to one of the squarewaves at...

with vblank flag clear: Ironswor(d) ;) [!] (E) and Cobra Triangle (E) get stuck.

Based on guesswork and getting sensitive games like Cobra Triangle and Ironsword running, I start at the pre-render scanline, then do nothing for 262.9 scanlines, then boot. So, in the case of PAL, 20.9 scanlines after vblank start.

It's a European production, I suppose it's been tested on a PAL NES. Try booting it in PAL mode, Disch, it works fine here on my emu (and not with NTSC).
