Have you compared thick or thin highlights on a real tv-set? Since the picture always get a little blurry on those chances are the thin highlights will "disappear".

If the player pressed a key between pass 2 and 3 it would register as not pressed.

But really, this is probably going to be run every frame and a 1/60th of a second delay for input to register isn't going to be noticable.

I had a vague recollection of this thread yesterday when I wrote the above but couldn't find it.

Aslong as all opcodes you use are the ones marked XX or uu in the matrix they are tested on the real NES by Kevin and should work as expected.
