Nesdev.com will be down for a while tonight starting around midnight MST for server migration. during this time, the database and other wiki/forum files will be mirrored over and the IP assigned to a new server. the actual migration should go fast but the ARP entries on the core router will take a l...

anyone up for a challenge? well... not much of a challenge

I would like to challenge anyone with some time to whip up a simple mini-game this weekend, lets see what we can all create in a couple of days. Can i win anything? No. Is this a competition? No. what is the point? To have fun. Anyone up for the challenge?

Re: server migration schedule and status

server migration has been delayed until Wednesday... the ISP has been moving their support staff to a different location and the network admin is on vacation until then. :|

it was nice of them to update us on these changes... oi

server migration schedule and status

With 2/3rds of the server being on my desk at work and the other third arriving tomorrow (Wednesday), I figure it is a good time to let everyone know what will be happening 08/31 - Hardware testing / burn-in 09/01 - initial configuration 09/02 - install server in rack alongside current server. forum...

Re: Nesdev.com funding

Consider me very impressed that the donations were so high -- all for pretty much 1 site (I think) -- and that puts a smile on my face. I think we live in different times now, as had I applied this exact approach for Parodius as a whole, there is no chance in hell we would've gotten US$500+ donatio...

Re: Nesdev.com funding

We had three donations come in after that last post, we have surpassed the goal and are now at $749.45. Since we have reached the goal, the donate button has been removed from the corner of the forums. It looks like we should have our new server and get it up and running sometime between the 2nd and...

Re: Nesdev.com funding

As of earlier today, we are at $576.36 of our $600 goal for a new server. Once the $600 goal has been met, I will remove the donate banner from the top of the forums but keep the donate page up on nesdev.com with any remaining donations going towards the co-location fees. thanks again for all the su...

Re: Nesdev.com funding

We have had a few donations already. I have a crude ledger up at http://nesdev.com/donate/ . Wouldn't table format be better? I agree I would think so too. the current ledger is more of a temp one. I am working on a new database driven system for the main domain and will replace that static page wh...

Re: fun game ideas for the Nintendo VS Dualsystem.

VS Shufflepuck Cafe While there is an NES port of Shufflepuck cafe (the port itself is not as good as on other systems... I personally prefer it on the 68K macs), it would be awesome to see a similar game made for the VS Dualsystem where two players can duke it out. Imagine playing head to head sit...
