NesDev facebook page

To go along with the changes that I have been working on to the nesdev.com index (WIP) to better support the homebrew authors, I recently created a facebook page. If any of you hang out on facebook and would like to check it out or contribute, you can find it at Here https://www.facebook.com/nesdevc...

Re: Login problem with Firefox (latest)

With Firefox, it simply doesn't make it. I type my user/pass and... nothing ! It shows that I have logged on, but once back to main page, I'm not logged. Is someone experiencing the same problem? could you try doing a ctrl+f5 after logging in? I wonder if i need to adjust the cache settings for thi...

Re: community fonts for NES Dev

WhoaMan: Let me guess, this is your interpretation of Westminster , itself an expansion of the MICR characters used on checks. in a roundabout way i suppose. I was more so looking at various pictures from the 70s and 80s and basing it off of that. would have been easier to look at the Westminster f...

community fonts for NES Dev

I was working on a font earlier for an NES game and decided that I would share it with the community for anyone who could put it to use in their own NES creations, and to encourage others to share their own fonts. If anyone would like to use this font or share a creation of their own, please feel fr...

Re: NesDev was down a day or 2 Ago..

the ISP where we co-locate at had a switch crap out and when replacing it with a temp one somehow missed the cable going to the rack our server is on :| They will be replacing the switch with the same type that was previously being used once the replacement arrives... so we may have a few minutes of...

Detecting screen (X,Y) location for the NES Zapper

I have been thinking about this off and on for a few years now and finally got around to testing it out, so far it seems to be working so I decided to see what others think about this method. What I am trying to do, is detect where on the screen (divided in to 16x16 pixel blocks for a grid of 16x15)...

Re: What's up with VS Duck Hunt?

I'd like to write some tests for the Vs. Zapper, such as a modified zapkernel for Zap Ruder. But I don't own a Vs. Duck Hunt cabinet myself. Is there anyone willing to run some test ROMs for me? I would be glad to run any test roms on a VS Dualsystem for you. I dont have the actual VS zapper but i ...

Re: What's up with VS Duck Hunt?

what mapper are you changing it to? and what are you specifying for the PRG and CHR sizes? this might have to do with some bankswitching, since VS Duckhunt has 16kb of CHR (changed on the VS by writing to $4016) Also, keep in mind that $4016 is player 2 on the VS, and $4017 is player one. You may al...

quick and dirty RGB palette converter, online style

I have been toying with a Nintendo VS Dualsystem for the past week and am currently working on a 16-in-1 daughterboard to 16 VS games that have a chip count of less than 6. Since our VS came with VS Super Mario Bros and VS Ice Climber, it contains a RP2C04-4 PPU that will only work with 3 of the gam...
