Re: Soundtracks recorded with real hardware?

I recorded my most recent 2A03 album on my PowerPak: https://rushjet1.bandcamp.com/album/adventures-of-the-2a03 Stuff recorded from my NES tends to sound warmer than from an emulator. On a slightly related note, I'd be interested to know what the audible differences are between emulated expansion au...

Re: A few limitations related questions...

I think you can use tiles to do what looks like overlapping parallax. You'd basically have to animate the tiles so they look like they're moving at a slower rate than the normal scrolling, then have them animate while the character moves left/right. https://youtu.be/9L3ymCQR5PM?t=359 https://youtu.b...

New Album: Adventures of the 2A03

http://i.imgur.com/fNpT6Eu.png Click the image for bandcamp link with hardware-recorded mp3s. I'll attach the NSF below if you want to listen to that instead. New album with some older 2A03 music, some new, and the Mario Maker songs I've been working on. All of these are originals except Sea of Ter...

Re: Attack channel

I've wanted this kind of thing in Famitracker for awhile, virtual "channels" that interrupt the existing ones. Doing this manually can be a chore.

Re: Why does the music "break" in certain games?

I disagree about Excitebike, tepples... It was a Nintendo production, and I can't believe that they wouldn't have heard the sweep effect when testing the game. Although, I removed the sweep effect (by modifying the original ROM) and it does sound better without it... You can also sit at the title s...

I know it's not SNES but probably one of the better NES explosions. Can't find an animated one and don't have time to make one.

Music from 1001 Spikes

http://f0.bcbits.com/img/a4028267657_2.jpg I released my first commercial game album, Music from 1001 Spikes a couple weeks ago. I'm not going to release it in NSF format as way too many .ftm files were used for that to be even remotely possible, plus several songs use different expansions (FDS, VR...

Re: (Mockup) Labyrinth Zone

Wouldn't it be possible to use color emphasis bits below a certain scanline for a water/transparency effect? Kinda wondered why more games didn't' use those, especially after MMC3 carts could change things based on scanline.

Mega Man 1 Cover Playthrough/Remade (8-bit cover project)

Hello, after 3 months of work I've written the successor to the Mega Man 3 cover playthrough I made last year - this time it's a cover of Mega Man 1. You can find the youtube link here and the bandcamp link for download here.
