Re: VS Dual System question about $4016

"In the DualSystem, connects to 1- /IRQ of the other CPU and 2- when high on the primary specifies that 2KiB of RAM is mapped from $6000-$7FFF, else mapped for the secondary CPU" "In the DualSystem, connects to 1- /IRQ of the other CPU and 2- when high on the primary" What does this mean? 1-? 2-? VS Dual System question about $4016

The Wiki mentions this concerning $4016-writes (bit 2):
"In the DualSystem, connects to 1- /IRQ of the other CPU and 2- when high on the primary
specifies that 2KiB of RAM is mapped from $6000-$7FFF, else mapped for the secondary CPU"
What does this mean? :)

VS Unisystem controllers & VS Balloon Fight

My latest project is trying to get "VS Balloon Fight" to work on a standard NES. However, I've run into some issues concerning the controls. The Wiki mentions that reading $4016 retrieves player *2* controls and $4017 is control *1*. Is this information confirmed reliable? I can't get this behaviour...

Re: ZappR ROM-hacking utility

I've finally released my "ZappR Toolkit" on my website. It can compile your patches to a binary format (.ZPC) but also, of course, load & apply patches. This is a work-in-progress alpha-version but if you're a Windows-user (with .NET 3.5 installed) feel free to check it out. There's also another too...

Re: ZappR ROM-hacking utility

A screenshot of my Work-in-progress. Everything in this image is embedded in the (compiled) patchfile itself (everything is optional of course). Time will tell if it gets finished and people will find it interesting enough to use it. :)

Re: ZappR ROM-hacking utility

I am almost done writing a primitive compiler that compiles these "scripts" to a binary format, but it's not IPS. My format comes with a few additional features that comes with atleast a very handy feature, CRC32-checking. People can't patch the wrong ROM anymore and bother you with e-mails like "yo...

Re: ZappR ROM-hacking utility

@Rainwarrior: You have alot of interesting ideas, I've thought of a few of them aswell. The CRC option doesn't currently makes much sense at the moment. However, I have been thinking of "compiling" the patches to a binary format (as you mentioned aswell) for distribution purposes. Then, a CRC option...

ZappR ROM-hacking utility

I've decided to release my own utility to help me in my ROM-hacking efforts. It's a commandline-tool (for Windows) that parses a textfile that describes how to patch a file. It has saved me many hours of editing instead of using a hex-editor and makes life alot easier if things starts to go wrong. A...

Re: Excitebike saving/loading

I did that patch. It's also available from my website at http://nes.goondocks.se/.
I didn't use some kind of Virtual Console ROM, it's just an ordinary Excitebike ROM-file. I patched the cassette-recorder stuff to write to SRAM instead.

Bowser-"problem" in SMB

This is kind of stupid but I still think it's a little bit annoying. :) When Bowser falls down into the lava in the first SMB, he falls on top of the lava instead of behind it. I think it would have looked better if he fell behind the lava. This would have been easily(?) fixed by setting the spritep...

I got myself a pretty new LG 55" 4K tv and my NES & Famicom AV works fine using the RCA-connectors so I guess I'm lucky.

Re: ice climber (fds) strange emu behavior in later bonus st

I've uploaded a slightly modified version to my website. It's still not 100% (but few will probably notice anyway :)).
