Re: 2018, what's up?

Just a little update, we are working on some stuff behind the scenes and will try to get something up ASAP.

Re: 2018, what's up?

I'm not sure i'd call it a category? At least not a category of entries. It'd be more like an award for the entries who meet and rank the proper criterium. I think of it like a film festival where's there's a special award for 'best international film', since they can't compete on the same merits d...

Re: 2018, what's up?

So should we go with 1st, 2nd, 3rd cash prizes + cartridges? Should we poll to see if everyone is on the same page with a 3rd category?

Re: 2018, what's up?

I'm not seeing a ton of support for a sidecompo. I agree that everything should be polished as much as possible for the final release, but at the same time some people might be hesitant or offended if they are really proud of their entry, but someone makes it better. Does that mean that their origin...

I like the remix idea, but does it need its own category? How many people have intentions of doing a remix entry?

Re: Action 53 volume 3

The biggest thing I need right now is the email list of contributors so I can blast everyone asking for their shipping address and desired cart form 60/72pin. I don't want to release the public sale until those have been shipped out to contributors. But I've got ~200 carts to assemble to keep me bu...

Re: Proposed side compo: Remix

or you improve someone else's past entry. Maybe this is obvious, but I'd suggest one of the requirements is to get permission from the original author before remixing/improving someone else's entry. Even if it's technically not legally required in some cases (if the code is open source or if the im...

What do you mean exactly? Do you mean coming up with a 'special title' for volume 4?
Nope, I meant this. My wish has been fulfilled.

Re: 2017 NESDev Compo - Rules/Guidelines

What carries the weight is what the community wants to spend compo funds on. On this topic, I think a donation to NA/NESDev to help with hosting was discussed at one time. Should we poll that, or is it a no-brainer? Also, could someone with forum superpowers make a 2018 compo category. Time to star...

Re: 2017 NESDev Compo - Rules/Guidelines

Any chance (unless it adds a ton of work ofc) to get the voting surveys with the names crossed out? It'd be interesting to analyse something quantitative. Maybe there's some statistics webapp the results could be fed into. Is this anything like what you were looking for? https://docs.google.com/spr...

Re: 2017 NESDev Compo - Rules/Guidelines

Are you sure this is correct? I honestly hoped for 3rd place at best... Also, a bit minor thing(probably everyone noticed by now, but in any case): Wolfling screenshot is incorrect(shows alfonzo game). Thanks for catching the screenshot error. As for the judging, I double checked, the results are c...

Re: 2017 NESDev Compo - Rules/Guidelines

It's been 2 weeks. I'm officially logging lodging a complaint. I don't want to belabor the point, but survey monkey calculates the totals for you. The results should be known. Could you at least give us an idea when the results will be posted? The results are calculated through a combination of vot...

Just waiting for a few stragglers. I'm sending out the final notification today. Feb 28th was more of a guideline. Results will be soon!
