Re: Split up NSF music

just make a little script that duplicates the files with a different LDA #xx at the start. There is a simpler way. Just adjust the starting and ending song in the header. That's not a good idea to write in LDA #$xx unless you know how to rewrite the code accordingly. Also, there is init code at the...

Re: NSF specification for FDS memory

Seiken Psycho Calibur still will not run on a PowerPak for reasons I haven't yet determined. That's happened to me a few times. Sometimes the NSF needs to be ripped again from scratch. That often solves the problem if done right. I very seldom work with an existing NSF. There could also be a memory...

Re: NSF specification for FDS memory

Hmm, I didn't notice load addresses in the $6000 range were disallowed in the spec. This seems like an oversight to me, since without bankswitching turned on it seems some FDS games should require it. I know that NotSoFatso does not allow it, but are there any other players that do not? (NSFPlay, N...

Re: NSF specification for FDS memory

1. When using bankswitching, does writing to RAM ($6000-DFFF) replace values in the original NSF ROM image? i.e. if you write to an area, bankswitch it out, and bankswitch it back in, should the written values persist? I'd have to say no. NSF is a ROM based format. Once you load a bank into a certa...

I've started working on it. I've successfully got it playing a few tracks already; still hunting down the rest of the data / banks / etc.
How nice. Someone else doing rips for a change. It's been a long time since a bunch of us were ripping NSFs like crazy. Thanks a lot rainwarrior!

Just one more thing. At the beginning of the play routine is where you would find that address to switch the tune. A great deal of Nintendo drivers are similar to the same way. This game's audio driver is a little different than a lot of Nintendo drivers though. Some of the older games clear the tun...

I don't use those automatic optimizers anymore. They can cause a lot of problems and eliminates code that could be necessary if used in a ROM. Anything that wasn't included in the rip index would be wiped out as well. The information was correct about ripping the game. I made some really simple code...

That's absolutely right and I've ran into a few situations like that until I stopped using that utility.

Im making an attempt to rip this myself but im not getting very far at all. Is it normal to be getting 1 dump file with NES2NSF? PAL version of Warios Woods is giving me one dump file NTSC version is giving me 3 dump files Question 1: NES2NSF utility is just a glorified bank splitter. There are som...

Also I might add that some do not have an initialization call. You have to build one yourself. Sometimes it's easy to do, sometimes not.

If you guys don't get it ripped, let me know and I can try it as well.

One more thing, locke_gb7 Check those fix requests vs the archive that I posted a couple of days ago. I know AD&D Hillsfar needs fixed so you don't have to check it. Short Order Eggsplode I know needs fixed. The others, not sure yet. Because my archive has close to the most updated archive that I kn...

I have a fix version of Blue Marlin on my website. Specifically in the NEWNSF page, NSF Fix category. I hear the noise channel in it. Let me know if it's ok.

Any chance of you provide a ZIP file within all the NSFs?
What do you mean?

I usually zip up a bunch of NSFs for a update release. The archive I just have them uncompressed because it's easier and faster to work with, for me.
