Re: Mockups of games from other platforms

I want to join and make some mockups as soon as I have more time. Meanwhile I'll post some veeeeery old tests I did on Nes Screen Tool using graphics from Sonic 1 and Castle of Illusion (both for Sega Master System): http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y191/macbee/sonicSMS_zpsad5c7ae1.png http://i5.pho...

Re: Mockups of games from other platforms

If you're still accepting suggestions, I'd love to see how Shantae (GBC) would look as a NES mockup. :D

Pretty cool! Congratulations! =D

Re: (Mockup) Labyrinth Zone

Any kind of uniform dithering across large plain areas looks weird on the NES when output in NTSC. You always get some sort of pattern, and unless that pattern looks like a plausible texture for the surface in question, it won't look good. I usually try to limit the dithering in my NES pixel work t...

Re: (Mockup) Labyrinth Zone

These 2-pixel wide patterns are also full of artifacts. It's used on California Raisins and (IMHO) it's as unpleasant as regular, 1-pixel wide, dither patterns. http://i5.photobucket.com/albums/y191/macbee/th_California-Raisins-The---The-Grape-Escape-U-Prototype-0_zps82024eab.png http://i5.photobuck...

According to Blargg's NTSC filter it will look like this:

Re: Please try my NES emulator HDNes

Shonumi's Game Boy Enhanced emulator project can replace graphics in Game Boy games. Kirby's Dream Land gets a color makeover here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kbd7lGXfRxI http://code.google.com/p/gb-enhanced/ http://6bit.net/shonumi/2013/07/18/emulating-game-boy-games-with-customcolorized-spri...

Re: Please try my NES emulator HDNes

Thanks for sharing! I'm particularly impressed by the first Ninja Gaiden image. If anyone is interested, I can share my works on the two games. But I don't want to post them here because they are not related to making an emulator. Please share your works. Maybe we should create another topic (to ta...

Re: Please try my NES emulator HDNes

Your work on Alex Kidd is gorgeous, Marcelo, as is all the other stuff at your blog. Thank you very much! The majority of my blog entries (NES remakes/demakes) are only possible due to thefox's "Nes Image Converter" program. I'd love to see you tackle other games from an art standpoint. Perhaps you...

Re: Please try my NES emulator HDNes

This is a great project. I hope that artists become interested in creating HD remakes, like Marcelo Barbosa has done for Alex Kidd in Miracle World using HiSMS. The sprite sheets for Super Mario Bros are fairly simple, so it's not an overwhelming project for an artist. Kung Fu and other early NES r...

Re: "Street Fighter II" for the NES theoretically possible?

but only if we had permission from Capcom. I seriously doubt that's gonna happen. The Street Fighter franchise is way too big for Capcom to leave it in the hand of amateurs for a project that won't get them any money. I doubt as well - even considering that a similar situation has happened: http://...

I think it would be nice - but only if we had permission from Capcom.
