Re: Writing my own assembler

You're never going to finish a NES game if you spend all your time making tools :P With that said, I'd like it if all labels used the anonymous label +/- syntax. For example, if you have multiple labels with the same name, you can use +/- to distinguish them: jmp foo:+ foo: jmp foo:++ foo: foo: jmp...

Re: Strange comparison/evaluation issue

So you are adding a signed number to an unsigned number? What is the threshold when subtracting? Going negative? Either way, I don't think this will work if you don't know for sure if you are dealing with signed or unsigned numbers (If you need to handle values >127)

Re: Members in Hokaido are ok?

So... everyone else can die? I once again forgot that one has to be careful with how to word things on this forum. Of course I don't think everyone else can die. I would like everyone involved to be OK, but I also already know at least 7 people aren't. Also, I don't think anyone but nesdevers read ...

Re: Members in Hokaido are ok?

Man, Japan has been having some shitty luck
It's not really bad luck, it is a natural consequence of its geography. Japan sits right where several continental and oceanic plates meet so earthquakes are more likely.

I hope all nesdevers are ok.

Re: How to synchronize a game speed for both PAL and NTSC?

I've used the skip every 6th frame. I think it looks OK. Best thing is obviously to have all calculations be done from 2 different set of constants that would result in the same behavior in both worlds. But that can become quite messy, take up room and/or be slower if not hard coding constants in ca...

No need for static recompilation. I played Mario 64 on UltraHLE on my P166 MMX and voodoo1 back in the 90s. Not full framerate, but I played through it.

Re: Reproductions that look like original games

Because they look nice. I have fake art on my wall because I like the look of them. I have fake boxes on my shelf because I like the look of them. MVS carts are pretty ugly by themselves. I didn't ask why you put a box of the game on your shelf, but why the box needs to have a label that tells a li...

Re: Reproductions that look like original games

For some things I really want a nice "original looking" box, even if one were never produced. But why do you want a box that lies to you? Why does a collector want to play make-believe instead of having every product in his collection represent what it really is? Because they look nice. I have fake...

Re: Reproductions that look like original games

Personally I don't really care. If I were to buy some game I really wanted to get original, I would seek up a legitimate source. I also know how to tell a fake from an original. For some things I really want a nice "original looking" box, even if one were never produced. I have some for my MVS games...

Not on PAL systems, unfortunately. That is why I prefer to try and keep any scroll glitches on the sides. But sprite pop-in is hard to hide.
