Different size, resolution etc. Won't really work.

Re: NES Classic Edition - Nintendo's own repro console

They really love to piss their customers off for no reason, it seems. Why?

I ordered mine months ago, way before release. I still haven't got one.

I finally folded after all this time when the news broke. I got an overpriced mini on ebay... Scalpers win. :(

Re: Best USB NES and Super NES capture devices?

I use the Xcapture-1. Expensive, but handles everything from 240p to 1080p. USB3 device. The lag is low enough that I can play directly on the computer screen.

Unfortunately, whoever made the cart screwed up the mirroring, so there are glitching graphics on the left :(

Non believers like myself think that there is no why, there is only how. And there are some really great explanations for how life could have begun.

Re: You know you've been coding too much when...

I have had a couple of times at work being stuck on a problem and actively thinking about it for hours. Then when I finally give up and walk out to go home the solution just pops magically into my head. Even if I didn't try to think about the problem at the time.

Loopy's site down, where to get ASM6?

I am on a business trip and feel like doing some 6502 on my work laptop. To my great dismay, I noticed that loopy's site is offline and I can't download ASM6. Does anyone know of a trustworthy mirror of the latest version?

I usually get a new idea I want to work on. Trying some new mechanic or technical feat. Doing the "engine" is usually the fun stuff for me :)

Actually, 1280x1024 is 5:4

Re: Hi-Def NES HDMI Adapter for the NES

It's too bad all of the ebay auctions start and end at the same time. I don't want to bid on multiple systems and end up with more than one. It would also drive the price up for no reason.

Re: Ordering Objects by Y

I am doing this in my game. I sort the sprites with a simple insertion sort. It is quick since my objects will be mostly sorted every frame anyways. If I detect any sprite overflows (yeah I know it's supposed to be buggy, but it works good enough in my case) I have four different predetermined order...

Re: Flappy Bird port

Haha, it looks like someone actually wrote a lua script to reach 9999 :) As I suspected, there are some integer overflows on higher scores, so the pipes render incorrectly. I just assumed no one would ever reach that type of score.

Re: Flappy Bird port

Good work, I like it. For physics did you redraw every frame in different rotations or did some realtime rotation trick I don't know about? Also could you add saving of highscore (via battery save) and some music (aside of launch tune)? The frames are re-drawn in different rotations. No fancy realt...
