Re: NES REMIX

Probably because it'd be hard to get permission from those games' publishers, especially in an era when exclusive rights in "look and feel" are being enforced. tepples, I'm a moderator over at Board 2 and this same person has posted this there. Assuming that he lives in another country apart from t...

http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Doom_rendering_engine To hyperlink, simply do (url)link_here(/url) replacing the ()s with []s. So, it becomes: http://doom.wikia.com/wiki/Doom_rendering_engine I hope this was helpful. :) --ShaneM, the Master of ASM EDIT: Or, simply hit the " URL " button at the top adjac...

I redid the snowy palette as I sort of disliked my original light blue. Here is the wind again compared to the original. --ShaneM, the Master of ASM

Re: Does a working NES2GB and GB2NES CHR converter exist?

I believe in YY-CHR, you can copy the tiles onto the clipboard, switch to Gameboy format, then paste it back in. Tile Molester also can probably do it too, I haven't used it in a while. Right. That's exactly what I did when I ripped SMAS tiles to my FDS hack in Homebrew. (Recoloring may be necessar...

Re: Cool ideas for a modern 2D system.

I do know that Kirby's Adventure on the 3DS/2DS does indeed have 3-D mode. So I'm not sure if this is an example of a rewritten classic with 3D features or an emulator setting within the WAD file. This is a game I don't have on VC so I can't say for sure like I was able to do with some other games i...

Re: Cool ideas for a modern 2D system.

Would the 2DS be considered a modern "2-D" console? Or perhaps the 3DS (any variety) on 2-D mode? --ShaneM, the Master of ASM

Re: SMB1 + SMB2J SRAM Plus (FDS hack)

Can you add this fix: May need more adjustments for your hack While I appreciate the suggestion, I must point out that I've already corrected this issue around September of last year: Here It's obvious that the game designers intended the crown to be used after attaining 9 lives rather than setting...

Re: SMB1 + SMB2J SRAM Plus (FDS hack)

Here's my code for creating both lava and water underground. I figured there are some hackers here who would appreciate this but may be lacking in ASM knowledge. Since I did all the work for you, if you want to use it, simply credit me. The 16 bit addresses would need to be changed depending on wher...

Re: Retrogames.com is gone?

I remember retrogames.com. That was a darn good emulation site. Too bad it's gone. To answer the OP, it may have been taken down by Nintendo or some other carrier, similar to how SMBX or that Pokemon project was taken down. Possibly the domain may also not have been renewed due to a cease and desist...

Re: SMB1 + SMB2J SRAM Plus (FDS hack)

It looks like polluted water to me, but that's equally useful. Looks like blood to me. Lava produces its own light, so even if it were in a dark place, it would still be bright. I'm not sure if these are complements or not; point is, I used the Accumulator to load the palettes so that can easily be...

Re: SMB1 + SMB2J SRAM Plus (FDS hack)

I've done something pretty cool. I was able to attribute both water and lava underground. It took me many hours to optimize some code to make room and I created a hardcoded routine to do this. Now, there's both! The way I see it is, the developers first wanted water underground, but then during the ...

I'm just wondering, do such "good glitches" happen to you more experienced programmers? Let me know :) Though I've never done homebrews, I do hack and I can only recall one time when this has happened to me. Back when I was turning Pokemon Blue into Green (now found in the GBdev section; similar to...
