Re: AX5904 MM1 clone incompatibility, or RAM issue?

I had some issues with a pirate MMC1 mapper that I discussed in this topic.
Not sure if the problem is related.
In my case it wasn't a chip, but an epoxy IC that some friends call it a "tick"! :-D

WOW!!
Another impressive work!!
Please, keep going with this.

Aren't you the same guy who's porting Megaman X for the Mega Drive?
That's another really great port!

Re: Is my SNES dead?

some of the auctioned ones are used, for repairing purposes, The "mileage" varies a lot! Near me, I could get one for a couple of bucks or even free few years ago. Now I just can't find a motherboard, even without any warranty for less than 40 bucks, even online! Hope @Erockbox can solve this probl...

Re: Falsion repro schematics

Wow!
There are so many possibilities!
I would like something simple, that sounds OK, preferably don't need to hack the rom and could be done with some discrete components.
But looks like it doesn't exist.
Maybe I could try something interesting if I learn fpga...

Re: Falsion repro schematics

Well, I need to check it out, but I have some "dead" SNESes wich I could get the sound chips if they're that similar to the FDS audio chips. I think I still have a complete sound module from a dead snes, wich would be very easy to moiunt inside the cartrige. I probably have some FM chips from old so...

Re: Falsion repro schematics

Interesting. Does a off-the-shelf similar to FDS audio generator exists? I tried reading it's characteristics on the wiki, but I found it too complex for me to understand everything right now... Maybe it's possible to hack a Namco 163 chip to it, but i would prefer some part I could get form old, di...

Re: Falsion repro schematics

Thanks!
I'll try that.

I forgot to ask if a romhack for "fixing" Falsion's sound exists?
Since it uses the FDS extra channels, the music without it sounds a little "off", giving the sense that something is missing.
I googled and found nothing.

Re: Is my SNES dead?

According to the logs in this page, you probably have a busted SNES CPU, but sometimes it can be some oxidation or some bad solder joints on the CPU's terminals or even elsewhere, like the power regulator. Have you tried recapping it? Just go buy a new one. I'm not sure if it's still economically a ...

Falsion repro schematics

After I totally misunderstanding this tread, thinking the schematics were the same as Falsion I could think a little and end up with this: Falsion Mapper.png And well, it works! Sorry about the drawing, it was done on LibreOffice Draw, hope I've transcribed it correctly. So, I have 3 questions: 1- T...

Re: Consequences of trying to disable CIRAM in clones that don't allow it?

If it matters, the Gauntlet cartridge I used was made by Gradiente, wich AFAIK uses the same mapper as the ones made by Tengen, the 206.
Maybe I should add this information to that thread.

Have you tried a deglitch capacitor on PPU A12?
Usually a 220pf is enough.

Re: Help with Aladdin repro

Well, I tried. Hope I have understand correctly the "recipe": - 1x 100nf for each IC, as close as possible from it; and - 1x 2,2MFD for the whole board, as close as possible from the connector. I could't add a capacitor for the flash that's in the middle of the "sandwich", but managed to add one on ...

Re: Consequences of trying to disable CIRAM in clones that don't allow it?

I have a clone with this exact problem.
In fact, it didn't even had a correct PPU /A13 signal, wich I fixed with a inverter.
I tested some games, and had post some pictures of the problematic ones, after the "fix", here.
Maybe these pictures can give you an idea of what happens.
