SNES Mouse acting weird

Hi, I've got an SNES mouse that when plugged the controller stops working. The only button that does something is B and it works as if all the buttons were pressed at the same time (including the directionals). I tested the cable, the diodes, the transistors and used diode test on the connections fr...

Altough the author says it's buggy, it worked with me ...

Re: 8k to 32k SNES VRAM schematic

Oh, I can see clearly now what you mean.
Wouldn't be enough to get the extra address pins straight from the ROM, since the SRAM's address when decoded just sets its /CE (or /OE) pin?

Re: What was that kind of Region in Nes?

That's amazing! I'll try to do something similar if I have the proper clones. Unfourtunatelly I don't own a original NES, but one of the clones has an RP2A03 that I got from a dead NES. Probably this would make it sound pretty much the same as the original, will it? I'll also have to do something ab...

Interesting.
Are the famiclones documented somewhere with their different "features"?

Re: how to use Use 27C040 in PCB for M27C801

Oops... Maybe it only works with .nes or .bin files, I'm not sure. There's also Joe's command line tool. It has only the source code, wich needs to be compiled. It works great too. In this post Joe gives a brief explanation on how to use the program. Hope you can figure it out and finish your repro.

Re: how to use Use 27C040 in PCB for M27C801

If you want to swap yout ROM's pins, there's the great Farid's EPROM pin swapper.
The difference is that you need to manually assign the pins you wish to swap.
It worked great for me in the past, and probably will do the same to you.
AFAIK, the source code is included.

Re: Bro-in-one

As a suggestion of 2 nice UNROM games wich support 2 players simultaneously I leave Jackal and Life Force.
I loved to play these 2 games with friends as a kid. :-)

Re: Help with Kaiser's Highway Star repro

Did a video with very bad sound here.
I suggest to watch it with low or mute volume.
There's 2 small lines on the right side, near the middle of the screen.
Maybe that's also present on the real cartridge I'm trying to mimmic.

Re: What was that kind of Region in Nes?

As a kid who grew playing on famiclones, I remember that the voices sounded very soft on a friend's house I used to go play. But that could be something related to the TV's volume or even how good the tuner was set to that specific channel. I also remember to have played Gradius 2 on a console that ...

Re: 8k to 32k SNES VRAM schematic

AFAIK, according to the SNES' schematics pin 46 of PPU-1 is one extra address pin that could double the available VRAM. Pin 20 of the S-DSP is also labeled A15, wich could do the same on the sound system. I'm not sure how would existing software work with extra RAM added. Just imagine how great (and...

Re: Help with Kaiser's Highway Star repro

Found another weird thing. That 2 small lines glitch seems to be inherent from the Kaiser's hack. When the game is paused, the lines change colors and go a little to the right according to what buttons I press on the 1st controller. It looks like the same happens when the game isn't paused too. It's...
