Re: ANy Good tools to repair headers? of Roms

Thanks For Your Help. Do you Know ANy Good tools to repair headers? I have a PowerPak and I like it. The latest version of GoodNES (version 3.14) has a "fixnes" option that automatically fixes all of your ROM headers with a single command. I recommend using this technique as opposed to using Nesopt...

bunnyboy, is this your way of dropping a hint that you are developing a "Super PowerPak" for the SNES?

Please consider avoiding using "donor" carts because it involves destroying original NES games.

Re: Intel Speedstep + emulators

I use a netbook with an Intel Atom as my primary computer and the more demanding emulators chug with the Speedstep technology. Basically what it does is vary the CPU's clock multiplier based on load. Under high load my CPU is 1.6 GHz, under low load it's 800 MHz. XP with the power management settin...

I have an FC Mobile and a PowerPak, and I can confirm that they do not work together. The FC Mobile barely works with official cartridges. You are better off using the PocketNES emulator for the GBA, if you want a portable NES. The PocketNES's emulation is better than the FC Mobile's hardware-level ...

I've only seen demos of Neotoxin in video form. I never played the demo rom myself (couldn't find it anywhere), but it looked interesting for what it was. From NesWorld's Homebrew page, you can download a zip file containing both the source code and a precompiled ROM for the Neotoxin prototype: htt...

Now that I think of it, I don't think I've seen anything in the platform genre out of NES homebrew. There have been a few, but they're either unfinished, buggy, or both. Go look up Sack of Flour, Heart of Gold, Dikki Painguin, and Neotoxin. Neotoxin looks very promising, It is a shame that it was c...

Using GoodNES to fix ROM headers for PowerPak

After using my PowerPak for a while, I noticed that many ROMs seemed to not work correctly. So I used the latest GoodNES's "fixnes" feature to fix the headers of the ROMs, and as expected, most ROMs now work. It is nice to see GoodNES include this option, and it would be even nicer to see the next v...

Does bunnyboy still read these forums? If not, somebody should mention loopy's VRC6 mapper to bunnyboy, so that he could consider including the audio resistor in future revisions of the PowerPak. It would also be a good idea to include the third-party mappers in the mapper bundle, assuming licensing...

Has PowerPak been unavailable for a long time? I thought I saw it just a while ago available. I would absolutely love to have one. I would get a PowerPak Lite, but honestly, the full PowerPak it just so much better! Every time the PowerPak comes back in stock, it sells out within a couple days. You...
