Re: Mesen - Emulator
The PCE VCE's RGB to YUV lookup table has quirks that were investigated in a channel of the 240p Test Suite server, and some games depend on those quirks to make sky gradients look right. I'll need to ask members of that server to coalesce the findings into a web page. The PCE core already uses the...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
Is Mesen2s Blargg filter setup to match the PCE resolution in Mesen2? The PCE NTSC filter is just using blargg's SNES NTSC filter. That filter takes RGB555 as input, so I convert the palette used for the PCE to RGB555 (which does potentially slightly alter the colors) and feed it to the SNES NTSC f...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
Sorry for the fairly late replies! I knew seeking wouldn't be easy with NSFs, but I asked if it would be possible with NSFEs, not NSFs. NSFE is the same as NSF, just with different/more metadata about the tracks/titles/etc. You still need to emulate the entire song to be able to seek through it, unf...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
It took about 12 hours after your post before the Windows version actually updated to include the semicolon feature That's odd. Maybe the service I'm using to put the latest dev build link in the readme sometimes has a bit of a delay, I'm not sure. The builds you can download directly from the &quo...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
Is there a way to make mesen have both and allow selection? At the moment, no. Improving bios/firmware management was discussed in this thread a while ago, but it'll probably be a while before I can get around to adding a UI for this. The current system should hopefully work fine for the majority o...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
He had conducted some live sessions debugging his own games (mainly DQ3 atm) and I think he's using MESEN for this, as the memory viewer is identical to Mesen's: That's neat! It's definitely the old mesen - I saw the yellow "current byte" marker at one point in one of his videos. When you...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
Am I missing something? Nope, apparently I never added this back in Mesen-S, and didn't notice it was missing when making this new UI either. I added a GSU tab in the register viewer with what should be most of the info that wasn't already displayed in the GSU debugger window itself. CX4, DSP and S...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
In Tile editor would you consider swapping the right-click and shift-click actions? In YY-CHR, which is pretty much the best chr editor out there, right-click is select color and I keep on trying to use that in Mesen. :? So shift-click would be set transparent and right-click for select color. Sinc...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
@sour the full screen issue i was encountering was caused by a setting on samsung tvs not the emulator. Sorry for the confusion I might have caused. Good to know this is working properly, thanks! Thank you! I will do some more testing in the coming days and will give you feedback if I find anything...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
Unfortunately, this bug is back again with windows dpi scale 200%. It's not exactly the same, but you can't move the mouse to the bottom or to the right. Thanks! Should be fixed now. The latest dev build also upgrades to the latest (preview) version of the ui toolkit, so that might potentially have...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
Small suggestion add an always open in full screen option. Useful if you put mesen2 behind a front end like romshelf. Or is there already maybe a command line argument for this? You should be able to use --fullscreen on the command line to do this Here is a bug report: Pokémon Gen 1's music seems t...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
But I still secretly hope that Sega will get the same nice Mesen-style treatment that Nintendo has one day. I've already had to convince myself not to write a SMS core a couple of times in the past already, so really it's probably only a matter of time until I give it a shot. But yea, for now I'd r...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
However, my DMA direct colour demo does not work properly. Ah, I remember this test rom. The code currently doesn't track the last used cgram address during rendering, but if I tweak it a tiny bit I get this: dmac_align_i.png This isn't quite right and it moves around a fair amount (whereas the ima...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
Also, are there plans to add the feature to change the volume levels of individual channels of expansion audio channels (for instance, N163-5, VRC7-2, VRC6-2, 5B-3)? This is something that was requested a long time ago on the old version of Mesen, too. As-is it requires a fair amount of changes to ...

Re: Mesen - Emulator
A list of the compatible firmware/bios files that mesen2 can use. This is probably something that should go in the documentation, but I have no idea when I'll have time to rewrite the documentation for this. I don't think Mesen even had any until version 0.9.6 or so, so you can tell how much I like...
