Namcot-340 PCB and iNES 210 Mapper Cart Mod

Post by headenddac »

Hello All,

Hoping someone can help. Over the weekend I bought a copy of Dream Master for Famicom. What a beautiful looking game and great packaging. After doing some research I acquired a translation patch. I compiled the Rom file and translation patch. I thought, wouldn't it be fun to create a playable famicom cartridge with the translated rom.

After doing some research it looks as though these carts (Namcot-340) use glob top ic s for games over 256k. There is a version of the Namcot 340 that uses eproms but 28pin holes and the files require 32 pin.

Has anyone attempted to create repo carts with this mapper and these types are carts?

If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks! :-)

We've documented the pinout here. You'll need to add extra wires for the extra address lines.

(Or, if you start with a chip-on-board PCB, you'd have to add wires for all the address lines)
