I've recently purchased the INL RETRO PROGRAMMER from Infinite NES Lives along with a NROM flash Board. As well, I've managed to download the relevant files & drivers from github https://gitlab.com/InfiniteNesLives/INL-retro-progdump which point to running the program from command line in explorer.

The INL programmer device is being recognized by the computer and the device driver is also up to date, I also followed Infinite NES Lives YouTube video to update the firmware, which I've now realized wasn't necessary. I'm running a 64bit Windows 10 setup.

I've dumped my original Duck Hunt ROM to my computer, modded the file with the mod from neslcdmod.com, and tested the ROM works on my PC in an NES emulator. However I am now having trouble to writing to rom to the NROM cartridge. I am using the following inlretro command, and the .nes rom is in the host;

D:\INL-retro-progdump-master\host>inlretro -s scripts/inlretro2.lua -c NES -m NROM -x 16 -y 8 -w 0 -p Duck_Hunt_(World).nes

It looks like everything is going smoothly but the Programming PRG-ROM and CHR-ROM returns the following message (which leads me to believe nothing got written);

D:\INL-retro-progdump-master\host>inlretro -s scripts/inlretro2.lua -c NES -m NROM -x 16 -y 8 -w 0 -p Duck_Hunt_(World).nes

When I load the cartridge into my original NES, I just get a blank yellow screen. I've tried to look through various online resources for help, and even searched through the forums here for support, but I couldn't find anything for this particular issue (whether it is because I am frustrated and exhausted from trying to get this to work).

Please advise if you require any additional information from me to support my question.

Your guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Try flashing stock/original (i.e. non-romhacked) Duck Hunt to the same flash cart. See if you get the same behaviour. If you do: INL has a Support site/link (look closely at the entire page, do not skim) which you should use to file a ticket. (This nesdev site is not an INL support forum.) Paul is often busy, but he will respond. You bought the product and thus you get support from the vendor!

If the original works, then the issue is with your romhack. Test your ROM with more emulators known to be accurate (ex. Mesen, Nintendulator, maybe Nestopia), particularly ones with a good debugger. It's very possible that your romhack has bugs that don't work on real hardware. You also chose not to state which emulator you were using, which is very disappointing.

Thanks for the reply koitsu,

I should have stated that the emulator I was using was Nestopia. I should have also mentioned I receive the same issue regardless of the .nes ROM I am trying to write to the cartridge. Stock/riginal Duck Hunt ROM, modded Duct Hunt ROM. I've also tried a clean dump of Hogan's Alley ROM. Unfortunately those are the only two NROM NES Games I have copies of; all to no avail.

I have sent a support ticket to Infinite NES Lives (just waiting to hear back), I was just hoping someone may have seen / dealt with this issue before. I also wanted to confirm that I was not doing something blatantly wrong/missing something, or if the was alternate software suggestions/recommendations.

I just hope don't have a DUFF NROM board.

Well, at least the mirroring detection is correct (Duck Hunt is indeed vertical). I'd wait to see what Paul says.
