Re: Introducing the VeriSNES (FPGA-based SNES)
This is coming along great. Definitely one of the projects I'm #1 excited for this year.
Re: Introducing the VeriSNES (FPGA-based SNES)
This looks amazing so far. Can't wait to see more of it.
Re: Introducing the VeriSNES (FPGA-based SNES)
This thread has been a joy to follow. Very exciting stuff!
Re: Introducing the VeriSNES (FPGA-based SNES)
Thanks for the kudos everyone! Still actively working on it!
I'm starting to just barely encroach on the accuracy barrier where I'm having to modify the timing of various signals in order to get things "just right". So development is slowing down a bit. Want to fix one more timing inaccuracy before I work on windowing and color math.

HDMA isn't enough?
My current setup:
Super Famicom ("2/1/3" SNS-CPU-GPM-02) → SCART → OSSC → StarTech USB3HDCAP → AmaRecTV 3.10

Re: Introducing the VeriSNES (FPGA-based SNES)
Not if the monitors available to you don't display the S-PPU's output correctly and promptly. Some refuse to recognize the nonstandard 240p signal entirely. Some deinterlace it as if it were 480i. Some delay it by several frames. Some have no S-Video input, without which one must fall back to composite with its color bleeding and edge artifacts.creaothceann wrote:HDMA isn't enough?

creaothceann was making a joke about the similarity in names.tepples wrote:Not if the monitors available to you don't display the S-PPU's output correctly and promptly.
