SNES mouse clone?

Post by Fisher »

Hi.
Did someone ever created such a thing as an SNES mouse clone?
How hard would be to do one?
I've heard some time ago about an PS/2 to SNES adaptor for the mouse, but I didn't see anything concrete about it.

Hyperkin makes the Hyper Click optical mouse for Super NES.

Product description
Purchase (Hyperkin does not appear to sell directly to end users)

Press covfefe:
"The SNES mouse lives again, with a few modern improvements" by Jon Martindale
"Hyperkin Launching an Optical Mouse for SNES" by Matthew Humphries
"Peripheral maker Hyperkin is releasing a retro style SNES mouse" by Shabana Arif

The project by tpw_rules got put on indefinite hiatus when tpw_rules went away to college.

Hyperkin's SNES mouse is great, IMO. I have one and I love it. Much better than an actual SNES mouse because it's optical too. (...plus has an extra button on the bottom to adjust speed setting without having to go through the software menu.)
